Enclosed lawned garden with decked terrace and garden furniture. Private parking for 2 cars. No smoking.. Situated in a very quiet location at the end of a no through road with no passing traffic and adjoining a forestry of fields. Much wildlife, deer, foxes, badgers and bird life visit the fields and the forestry is very picturesque. The walking is superb in the area. Surrounded by countryside and woodland, where you can hear the nightingales sing and observe the deer, this comfortable holiday lodge is situated in the owner’s grounds with a delightful decked terrace and enclosed garden facing the fields. A plethora of National Trust properties are close by, including Batemans, Rudyard Kipling’s Jacobean family home, where guests can enjoy the serenity of the grounds and winding path to the watermill. Standen is an Arts and Crafts family home with beautiful Morris & Co. textiles and wallpapers. Sissinghurst Gardens, created in the 1930’s by Vita Sackville West and her husband Harold Nicholson who were part of the Bloomsbury Set, is also a short drive away. Other places of interest include Bodiam Castle, Battle Abbey, Herstmonceux Castle and the Science Centre and Glyndebourne Opera House, very popular during the season. The picturesque cinque port town of Rye and the rolling sand dunes at Camber are approximately 30 minutes away. In the other directions along the coast are the South Downs and Beachy Head. There are many craft fairs, agricultural shows and ploughing matches locally, showcasing Sussex wares and produce. Beach 13 miles. Shop 2 miles, pub and restaurant 1 mile.
