Located in Carmel’s Golden Rectangle, the 1,550-square-foot, single-level home is within walking distance of all the best that Carmel has to offer, from theater and music venues to fine dining, shopping and other area attractions.
The 2-bedroom, 2-bath A-frame house is perfect for two couples or a family getaway, with whitewashed vaulted ceilings, skylights and large windows that let in plenty of natural light, and easy-care hardwood and tile floors.
Besides being close to downtown Carmel-by-the-Sea, the home is only a few minutes’ drive from the beach. It’s also a short drive to monarch butterfly sightings in Pacific Grove, Monterey Bay Aquarium and Cannery Row. Downtown Monterey, Carmel and golfing in Pebble Beach are 10 minutes away by car, and other attractions within a half hour’s drive are the natural wonders of Big Sur and wine tasting and dining in Carmel Valley Village.
Living Spaces
Guests enter up the Carmel stone steps to the front door, which opens into a great room area that includes the kitchen, living room and dining room. The living room features comfortable upholstered furniture in shades of driftwood and sand, with unique furnishings that reflect the owners’ love of travel and art.
Leather club chairs and a sofa surround the gas fireplace, a perfect gathering place for conversation, playing games or watching the 48-inch HDTV. A bar area offers a beverage refrigerator and countertop for preparing drinks; there’s also a handy desk in the far corner.
Kitchen and Dining
The adjacent kitchen features high-end stainless steel appliances, including a four-burner Gaggenau gas cooktop and oven. Also featured is a double sink with pull-out faucet, a French door refrigerator, and a unique stained glass skylight above. The dining area has seating for four at a round wooden table.
The back patio is fully fenced for privacy and features a patio table and comfortable chairs. The side patio, built around a large Monterey pine tree, offers a gas grill and patio seating and is accessible from the living room.
Bedrooms and Bathrooms
The hallway leads to two bedrooms, with Bedroom #1 offering a California king bed with a striped coverlet, walk-in closet, a 36-inch HDTV and sliding glass doors that lead to the back patio.
An en suite bath features dual sinks and a large tiled shower with built-in bench.
Bedroom #2 has a queen bed with wooden headboard and a red bedspread, and also has a sliding door to the back patio.
The hallway bath has a shower-tub combo.
