Summary: This was not a good way to start our vacation in Puerto Rico. This hotel is understaffed and the staff who are there are not sufficiently trained. We arrived at 1:30am and it took ages to check in even though it was just us. We were assigned a room and walked in on a family sleeping! It took them awhile to find a new room, which separated our (mostly grown) kids from us in a separate building. Rather than treat the situation with concern and urgency, the front desk staff were laughing and telling the story to other staff! We had breakfast in the restaurant in the morning, and it took a full hour to get bowls of yogurt and oats. The server did warn us that the kitchen was slow bc she had only one cook but we couldn’t even get water or coffee. Clearly this hotel has been redesigned and it’s adorable but the staffing is not up to standards.
