The heated outdoor seasonal pool is located on the shore, and the kids can swim while you walk the dog nearby on the beach or just watch the bald eagles wheel overhead. Back at the house, you can do a puzzle or play games in the great room while the kids watch a film on the 65” smart TV. Or maybe hang out in the oversized backyard. With an accessible layout all on one level, this house is fully equipped for the perfect getaway with friends and family.
Whidbey Island offers something for everyone. The Victorian seaport of Coupeville is just 10 minutes away, and it features outstanding restaurants, an ice cream parlor, a public pier, and landmark pub. The military emplacements at Fort Casey State Park are also 10 minutes away; they’re fun to explore and guaranteed to supercharge kids’ imaginations. Fort Casey also has a ferry to Port Townsend, another Victorian town with great restaurants, shops, and galleries. Our home is located just outside Ebey’s Landing National Historical Reserve, which preserves the gorgeous scenery—and it means there are tons of wonderful places for bicycling, hiking, birdwatching, and scenic drives. Oak Harbor, 10 miles to the north, has whale watching cruises and a fun drive-in movie theater. Just 10 miles further up the road is Deception Pass State Pass with saltwater beaches, swimmable lakes, and gorgeous trails. You want wineries, breweries, or working artists with studios? Whidbey has ‘em.

There’s parking for four vehicles, including a two-car garage. Outdoor furnishings make it easy to lounge, dine, and mix drinks on the expansive deck.
Admiral’s Nest is a dog-friendly home, and you are welcome to bring two dogs for a fee of $100. The yard is not fenced, but there are several off-leash parks and trails nearby. (Airbnb pet fee requested separately after booking when a pet is indicated to join reservation) No Cats allowed.
*A note about the sound of freedom: Whidbey Island is home to a naval airbase. A few weekdays during the month (and sometimes an evening), there may be very loud flight training. The Navy never practices on weekends or holidays, and they publish a schedule a week in advance. We have a few pairs of noise reducing headphones just in case. If they are flying, Top Gun fans and aviation buffs should drive to the highway to see the TAG “touch-and-go” operations that simulate landing on aircraft carriers.*
