Positive: The house is beautiful, spacious and comfortable.
Negative: The service was pretty terrible though. I booked the property for same day check in, I contacted the host on whatsapp - no immediate reply. I asked another hotel reception to call the host. Finally he replied on a robotic tone that I need to cancel the reservation as he cannot assist me at this time, because the person who had the key needed to be notified in advance. I told him if his property was still available for bookings online then I had assumed he had the arrangements to receive guests the same day. I told him it was not my wish to cancel the (non-refundable) reservation, but his wish. So he should be the one contacting booking.com to request a cancellation. Then instead of replying on the booking.com platform, he texted me for almost 3 hours on whatsapp with false information (pretending the reservation cannot be cancelled from the host side, just from the guest side), promising a refund off the platform etc. I said I cannot accept any other form of refund than through the booking.com platform and I sent him the instructions needed to cancel. Eventually after almost 3 hours of stress, with no key nor cancellation, he got a guy Erick to check me in. But on arrival I realized I was assigned just one bedroom (with noisy AC I could not use) while the other bedrooms were locked. The host replied I can only have access to one room ((although my reservation said I had booked the whole house). Then I realized the bed was not made and there were no bed linen available. The host said I should search through the cupboard and bags of laundry (trying to guess if they smelled clean or dirty) but could not find the size of my bed. Eventually Erick came back and gave me bedlinen. I agreed with Erick for check out at 13:00, but nobody responded till 14:15 and eventually his father came at 14:30. Erick simply said he lost notion of time. These hosts need to be more respectful of guests. So, a score of 9 for the house and 1 for the time wasting service = 5 overall.
