The outdoor fire pit is perfect for campfire bonding, and in fall and winter months, enjoy the wood-burner on the indoor patio overlooking the lake. Cottage is on a channel to Pike Lake - a calm, private lake. Take the kayaks and SUPs exploring, or enjoy ice skating or fishing when the lake’s frozen.

Whole property; property across the street available for additional parking, campers, tents. Cottage is one-level, without stairs, and indoor patio and outdoor patio are easily accessible to all.

WARNING: Shallow water. Do not dive off docks. All children must be accompanied by an adult when outside or near the lake.
SWIMMING AND BOATING IS AT GUEST OWN RISK. CHILDREN MUST NEVER BE LEFT UNATTENDED WHILE OUTSIDE OR AT LAKE FRONT. ABSOLUTELY NO DIVING OFF DOCKS. WARNING: WATER IS SHALLOW. Guests who book a stay at our Lakehouse (“Guests”) are fully responsible for their own actions and the actions of their guests - invited or uninvited. Guests are responsible for all injuries to persons or damage to property caused directly or indirectly by Guests or their guests. Absolutely no smoking inside our Lakehouse.
With permission, we do allow a well-behaved pet, provided Guests are fully responsible for any damage or injury to persons or property, such pet is not permitted on the furniture or in the beds, and they’re picked-up after in the yard - promptly. When permitted, we charge a $150 nonrefundable pet fee to cover potential costs that may be incurred by such pet.
Other things to note
As stated in the description, our cottage is directly on the lake. As such, there are bugs outside and wildlife noises, and the lake is exactly that - a lake! It isn’t man-made or maintained (except that we do rake and maintain our beach area as best we can), and it has many turtles, fish and other wildlife who enjoy their lake habitats. There’s a small “wildlife island” just off the beach, so swimming is best enjoyed by floating out on a raft (or a paddle board) to where it gets deeper, or taking a boat to the deeper areas. The beach area is enjoyable by folks of all ages too, but keep in mind, it’s a lake!
NOTE: We provide 5 life jackets for the canoe, flat bottom boat and kayaks; MI law requires one life jacket on board per person for the canoe, flat bottom boat and kayaks. IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO KNOW MI BOATER LAWS, AND WE, RYAN AND SHANNON BIBLE, DISCLAIM ALL LIABILITIES RELATED TO OR ARISING FROM THE USE OF ANY BOATS OR THE LAKE. BY REASON OF RENTING THE COTTAGE AT BEAR LAKE, ALL GUESTS HEREBY AGREE TO INDEMNIFY AND HOLD US, RYAN AND SHANNON BIBLE, HARMLESS FROM ANY AND ALL LIABILITIES RESULTING OR ARISING FROM ANY GUESTS USE OF THE COTTAGE OR ACCESS TO THE LAKE.

NOTE: our cottage is in rural Michigan, where WiFi isn’t the fastest around. That said, the lake is gorgeous and the surroundings are peaceful, and there’s a good selection of games, movies and memories to be made laughing and enjoying yourself around the campfire lakeside.

The red light switch to the left of the door leading to the lakeside porch turns power on and off to entire porch.
