About Bear Mountain Retreat
Come and Enjoy some time at Bear Mountain Retreat where your cares will melt away and your adventurous spirit will come alive. This two-bedroom, two bath cabin features a large Great Room with plenty of comfortable seating and a wood burning fireplace. Just right for eating and relaxing after a full day of Mountain, River and Lake exploration. You will enjoy the kitchen and pantry stocked with everything you need to cook inside, on the propane grill on the back deck with tables and umbrella or above an open fire in the separate firepit perfect for roasting hot dogs and marshmallows and telling campfire stories in comfortable chairs or eating on the adjacent covered picnic table.

There is plenty of sleeping space for 7 adults and there are 2 kid sized air mattresses with sleeping bags in case the kids want to camp out in Mom and Dad’s room.
The master bedroom has a King bed and large master bath. This bedroom opens out to the peaceful wrap around porch with sitting area, dining table and lots of bird song. The second bedroom has a Queen-sized bed and a 32” Smart TV. There is also a Memory Foam Queen sleeper sofa and a thick mattress full sized futon in the Great Room.
TV is available through streaming. The 60-inch Roku TV in the Great Room is set up with local and movie channels through the Windstream Kinetic channel on Amazon Firestick. There are over 400 DVD Movies, DVD player and WII, too!
Want an Unplugged vacation? Enjoy a large selection of board games, outdoor games and children’s books. Don’t forget the marshmallows, smores are always a hit. Whether its sitting by the fire at the firepit with adjacent covered picnic table or grilling and enjoying a meal under the umbrella on the separate deck you have a pleasant and private place to relax and enjoy.
The house is nicely tucked up in the woods but there are other houses around with friendly neighbors. It is private but not isolated. Close to Hiawassee, Young Harris and Helen. Hiking, Antique shopping, Wineries, White Water Rafting, Waterfall hikes, Lake adventures with plenty of places to rent watercraft such as kayaks, jet skis and pontoon boats and River tubing are within a half hour ride! The Georgia Fairgrounds are close. There are great restaurants and shops in town, local festivals, craft shows and concerts are tons of fun.
Sorry the owner loves pets but cannot make exceptions for pets as a family member is extremely allergic and uses the upper level when they visit.
Note: The owner maintains the bottom level for personal use and will on rare occasions be there for one or two days during your stay and will respect your privacy. However; don’t hesitate to ask if there is anything you need. The only shared space is the driveway. The owner will not use any of the outside areas during your stay. The cabin parking is up by the upper wrap around porch entrance, please reserve lower parking for owner.
