Summary:
Enjoy Vienna by living in a centrally located, 85 sqm apartment. It can easily accommodate 5 persons, being a bright and newly refurbished home. You can get to the most important sights by foot or by taking the tram which stops right in front of the building. The neighborhood in which the apartment is located, is home to a lot of beautiful Viennese Cafés.
The Space:
The apartment is located in a beautiful building which dates back to the 19th century, built with high ceilings in a typical Viennese style. It has immense windows which look over two different streets, having an amazing overview over the streets also thanks to its location on the corner.
Guest Access:
The flat is situated in the first floor and accessible by entering the building, turning into the first aisle on your right and stepping up until the first floor. In the flat you will have access to free WIFI and all the kitchen devices including a toaster and water boiler. In the bathroom you will have access to hot water, shampoo, soap, freshly washed towels and hair dryer. The bedroom and sofa beds are provided with freshly washed bed clothes.
The apartment is also equipped with heating. Please rotate the small wheel of the temperature control to the temperature you prefer. It is situated close to the door of the living room. Please keep in mind that adaptions of the temperature need a while.
The Neighborhood:
The 9th district is home to Sigmund Freud's consulting rooms and Franz Schubert's birthplace. It hosts a lot of university institutions and some embassies – places that almost all the time come with gardens and parks attached. It is also known for its bourgeois way of living and all the nice typical Viennese cafes.
Getting Around:
IN THE CITY: The easiest way to reach all the major sights is either by walking, because everything is pretty close or by taking the tram, which stops exactly in front of the house.
FROM/TO THE AIRPORT: There are various ways to reach the apartment from the airport. You either take a cab, which has a fixed price of 36€ to any destination in the city. That's also valid if you take the cab from the city to the airport.
Alternatively you can choose to come by train. It will cost you around 5€ (or 15€ if you take the faster train CAT) one way and it will take you to the city center. Station "Wien Mitte" is the one which I recommend to get down at. From there I suggest to take the metro line U3 until Volkstheater, then change and go to the tram station, at the exit "Volksgarten". Tram "D" will bring you right in front of the building where the apartment is, at the station called "Schlickgasse". The tram ticket costs 2,30€/ride.
Other Things to Note:
PARKING: You can park your car on the street around the building, but you need a parking ticket which costs 2,10€/hour. On Saturday and Sunday the parking is free. The parking tickets apply from Mo-Fr, 9am-10pm. Right in front of the building there is also private parking house: GARAGE CAPRICORNO. Alternatively I would recommend Garage Praterstrasse which costs around 3,10€/hour or the parking house "Erdberg", which is not very close but well connected to the metro station. It is also very cheap, meaning it costs 3,40€/day.
BANK: Leave the house turning right then take the first left and walk for a few minutes until you will find Bank Austria only a few blocks away.
SUPERMARKET: There is a BILLA behind the building where the apartment is located, at two streets distance.
