Positive: Location was good, only 10 mins to the beaches. Groceries and restaurants are just a few minutes down the road.
Negative: I didn't like the fact that I drove 20 hours and they wouldn't let me in early, less than 2 hours despite the fact that I had asked a couple of times before the journey down there and received no response from them. I would have gladly paid any extra fees. Also, while I was in the pool enjoying a a nice afternoon swim, a man had entered the side yard and poked his head around the back patio, looking dead in my eyes, needless to say I was caught off guard by this. I asked if I could help him and proceeds to tell me he was the pool guy, lol. Not even joking! He says he'll be there for about an hour. At this point, I'm wondering if he really is the pool guy or some random guy for down the street. I get out of the pool, check my phone to see if I missed the notification for this house call. There was no notification. I called Anchor Downs to ask why there was no notice of this as I had 7 young ladies (grandaughters) with me. I was taken aback and very upset that they could care less about the safety of their guests. I rented that house for the week and feel I should have been notified that someone would be coming to service/repair on the property. Like I said, this man could have been anyone intending to cause harm to me and my girls. I was told they don't give notices because they don't know when they are coming. I spoke to the pool guy and was told they do know the day they are coming, just not the specific time. I feel this is not only unacceptable but also very dangerous. This could have easily been a tragedy seen on the evening news. Renters have the right to know if someone will be on the property. As I said earlier, Anchor Downs Rentals couldn't care less about the safety of their renters.
