Travel Purpose: business

Positive: Location was excellent, can’t be faulted. Beds were comfortable. Good shower Has a washing machine which is useful, also good provision of cleaning materials, though a tea towel would have been appreciated. Good sized fridge. Thankfully a lift up to the floor, otherwise a struggle up to the flat. Nearby street with lots of bars and restaurants, Carrer de Blai. Just a word of warning- watch your valuables in the city, unfortunately we were subject to phone and bank card theft on the metro. Sitting/dining room bright and airy. Good air conditioning and ceiling fans in bedrooms.

Negative: I’m honestly not being negative but really do think that people would appreciate this information to help make choices, and I would have liked to have known these points. The transport from the airport provided free by Booking.com took us to the wrong address so we had to walk 45 minutes to the correct address across Barcelona with our luggage. Front bedroom of 3 is large and bright, further 2 are very small and dark, no natural light, main light in middle bedroom not working. The TV did not work as the aerial leads were obviously shredded with wires sticking out. I know you don’t go to Barcelona to watch TV but nice for background noise. There were 2 pegs to hang out 4 bath towels over the balcony over the main road, so had to hang others inside. Dining table had a scorch mark probably from the iron, this had been painted over. The toilet is literally in a cupboard, you can’t shut the door whilst sitting on it and doors would not shut due to knees sticking out! The boiler in the broom cupboard after 2 cold showers we discovered had an error and needed to be reset. Bear in mind despite saying kitchenette, it has a hob, kettle and toaster, no microwave, no grill, no oven. No hot running water to kitchen sink, had to boil water in the kettle, and no plug. Lamp in the sitting room was visibly cracked with a piece missing and leaving sharp edges. Despite it being for 6 people, there wer only 4 of us and comfortable seating was limited. Rocking chair for 1 then a small sofa to accommodate our son and partner. I ended up sitting on a hard kitchen chair in the evening.
