Summary: It could have been very good. But there were a few items that really pushes down my rating. First, they sent several emails warning me not to arrive before 4PM. With that we made sure to arrive shortly after 4. The problem was they never bothered to send us the entry code. In their effort to make sure we didn't arrive early they made me contact them after arrival to enter the house. As we were trying to settle in we noticed mouse droppings. On the floors, the nightstands and on the beds. We then saw live mice in 2 of the bedrooms. They of course quickly disappeared behind or under furniture. We then closed the doors and used towels to trap 3 mice in the 2 bedrooms and a closet. We contacted the host, they were able to send a pest control person over about 7pm on the second night. He put bait stations in the rooms and left them closed as he was not able to find them either. We were left with 2 bedrooms, associated bathrooms and a closet we couldn't use. My daughter, her husband and 2 kids all had to stay in one bedroom. The host sent in a cleaning person on the second day, but we had to do the initial cleanup ourselves in order to use the 2 bedrooms. Lastly, after dealing with the mice and cleaning our beds, nightstands and bathrooms we decided to go out back, sit by the fire pit and have a drink before bed. Unfortunately the fire pit had a gas leak so it was not useable. Again, it is a nice property, it has potential but it didn't work well for us.
