Our log cabin, the ideal alpine getaway just 2.5+ hrs. from Bay Area, is a comfortable, spacious, warm home, and a 5 minute walk to the lake. It's quiet, family friendly, and beautifully forested. Endless recreational activities make this cabin a special Sierra getaway. Close to Ski resorts: 5-10 mins from Sugar Bowl, Royal Gorge, Donner Summit, Boreal ski areas. Great sledding and tube park just down the hill. During warmer months enjoy swimming or paddling on the lake and hiking and biking trails right out the door.
Our charming, two-level log cabin features an open-plan living area with high ceilings. Barbecue and enjoy summer meals on a south facing deck. The ‘kid-zone’ has a bunk bed and an additional full size bed. Also upstairs is a bedroom with a queen bed and a loft area with another queen bed. The 3rd bedroom is downstairs with a king bed. Sink into the comfy sofa while warming up beside the cast iron gas stove. When evenings get chilly that will keep you warm. Cook up dinner for everyone in kitchen equipped with everything you need to prepare group meals and the counter space to make it comfortable.
In winter, Serene lakes is transformed into a winter wonderland with consistent deep powder. Often the snow will be 10+ feet high along roads (we have great snow plow service). World class downhill and cross country skiing, sledding, ice skating and snowshoeing are all close by!
Coming to Serene lakes in the summer feels like taking a trip back in time. Kids ride bikes through the streets to the beach where there’s a great swim platform and a snack shack (ice cream!). You can play volleyball, fish, paddle canoes across the lake to the little islands. You can hike or mountain bike from the cabin door through the sierra meadows or up the mountains for breathtaking views. Use the kayak to get out on the lake and swim in the fresh mountain water. There’s movies at the beach on Saturdays with popcorn and s’mores.
