Relax in our charming historic bungalow that has been fully remodeled and updated with modern conveniences and trendy style. This home is fully equipped with everything you’ll need for a comfortable stay; just bring your suitcase! The bungalow is in a quiet, friendly neighborhood that is within walking distance of both UMKC and Rockhurst University. It also provides easy access to Kansas City’s main attractions, including downtown, The Plaza, the art museums, and the Chiefs and Royals stadiums.
THE HOUSE
This 1917 home has recently undergone a full renovation, with many upgrades to make your stay comfortable. These include a brand-new kitchen with high-end appliances, two fully remodeled bathrooms, and a recently converted loft suite. Plus, a new HVAC system was installed in 2021, as well as a new hot water heater, so you’ll be comfortable no matter the temperatures outside. The house also has new plumbing and electrical so you can have a worry-free stay.
Throughout this bungalow, you’ll find thoughtful decor with high-quality furniture in mid-century modern and Scandinavian styles. The rooms are spacious and open, with lots of windows for natural light. The main level includes two bedrooms and a full bathroom, as well as large living and dining areas and a gorgeous kitchen.
Upstairs, you’ll find our Scandinavian-inspired loft, which includes a cozy bedroom, a full bathroom, and a home office with an ergonomic chair. The loft is designed as an open concept suite to allow light and air to flow freely and to create a spacious feel. The semi-private bathroom is separated from the bedroom with a custom-designed, mid-Century-inspired wood slat divider wall. Note that the attic loft has low, sloped ceilings that are 7 feet at the highest point - so pro basketball players may need to stick to the main level! Despite the low ceilings, the attic feels bright and open thanks to two skylights let in natural light.
In addition to the main living area, you’ll find a laundry area in the basement, as well as a home gym complete with a stationary bike so you can exercise year-round. You’ll also enjoy lounging, dining al fresco, and watching the sunset from our screened-in front porch. There’s also a spacious, grassy backyard for children to play.
This home has everything you’ll need for a comfortable stay. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything for the home chef, including a new induction stove. There’s no shortage of entertainment with three smart TVs with Netflix and Amazon Prime Video, as well as books to read and board games. If you work remotely, there are desks in each bedroom and high-speed Fiber Wifi.
THE LOCATION
The house is on a quiet residential street in a friendly neighborhood that is home to a mix of families, professionals and students. Rockhurst University campus is just one block away. UMKC campus is three blocks away. Everything you need is nearby, including restaurants, coffee shops, grocery stores, and pharmacies.
Many of KC's top destinations are just a five-minute drive away: Country Club Plaza, the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art and Kemper Museum of Contemporary Art, Loose Park, the Trolley Trail (for walking or bike-riding), and the popular Brookside neighborhood.
In just a ten-minute drive, you can reach downtown KC, the City Market, the Crossroads District, Westport, the WWI Memorial, the Kansas City Zoo, and KC's most famous eatery, Joe's KC BBQ. The Chiefs and Royals stadiums are fifteen minutes away. We are 30 minutes from the KC International Airport.
