Tucked up next to the Gaylord State Forest Area, the chalet sits only ¼ of a mile from the North Country Trail, the MCCCT trail system, the Michigan Snow Mobile trail system as well as an abundance of ORV trails.
Centrally located in the “Tip of the Mitt”, this chalet is the perfect base camp for your next Northern Michigan adventure.
~ Skiers can enjoy a short five drive to Boyne Mountain or venture further north about thirty minutes to enjoy the slopes at Boyne Highlands or Nub’s Nob. Shanty Creek Resorts is only a 45-minute drive to the south and the Gaylord area ski hills (Tree Tops resort & Otsego Club) sit within 20 minutes of your front door.
~ Snowmobilers can leave from the chalet and be on trail 76 within ½ mile. This gorgeous section of DNR Snowmobile Trail allows easy access to the Jordan River Valley to the south and the Wolverine trail cluster to the northeast.
~ Mountain Bikers can pedal from the cabin right onto the North Country Trail or take a drive into Boyne City to take advantage of the new trail systems at Avalanche Park and the Boyne City Forest Trails. This region has some amazing biking trails: The Boyne Highlands Bike Park, Shingle Mills Pathway and Glacial Hills trail system are all easy drives from the chalet.
