Positive: I could tell that the managers put a ton of work into the property and housekeeping. I'm talking the nicest comforter I've seen in a hotel, meticulously aligned stacks of towels, pretty good quality complimentary travel toiletries - all the same or better than I would expect from my typical stay in say a mid-level Hilton property. My stay was much nicer than I was anticipating based on the location and price.
Negative: The area didn't seem like the best (although it was close to where I needed to be), and some of the policies and signage made it seem like they'd been having a lot of issues with guests damaging the facilities. The website listed I think a $40 or $50 cash deposit that would be returned at check out if no damages had been done, while the front door listed maybe a $30 cash damages deposit, and ultimately the manager didn't charge me any deposit or even mention it at check in. Not sure if that was racial profiling (single white female traveler) or just outdated signage. It was all a bit weird, but ultimately I felt pretty safe staying here.
