Easy commute to PSU, Grier School, and Juniata College! Just 6 miles off of I-99, Enjoy the charm of this unique historic home in secluded Sinking Valley. Lovely rural getaway, exquisite natural beauty! Gorgeous mountain backdrops and scenic overlook!
The serenity of this place is amazing. Relax on the front porch and watch for horse & buggy traffic, or relax in the comfy living room. Take walks over the hilltop and by the wooded stream for a spectacular view and a tranquil touch with nature.
This listing includes just the small brick cabin at Sinking Valley Retreat, and shared access to 10 acres of grounds including large lawns, brushy woods with stream and trails, and a 3-acre hay field. For winter-time fun, we have a spectacular sledding-hill next to the house.
To enjoy the rest of the amenities at this lovely retreat (pool, patio, pavilion, child-play-area), book the Sinking Valley Retreat main house.
Be prepared to walk 100-feet from the parking area to your front door. Also please note that parking area is monitored by a video camera.
We now have improved WiFi and boosted Cellular signal for multiple carriers, but Verizon is still accessible only when outdoors.
A 28" TV is present with a built in dvd player as well as an HDMI cord, but no programming is provided. You may bring your own device with HDMI output (laptop, phone, Dvd player) and stream media via your device.
Please note that the bedroom does NOT have a door separating it from the main living area, but that they ARE separate rooms on separate floors.
Self-check-in and check-out. We will be available by phone or text throughout your stay.
Nearby Tytoona Cave (4 miles away) is a fun place to explore.
Fort Roberdeau (6 miles away) is a highly rated historic site with guided tours seasonally.
Blue Knob, Trough Creek, and Canoe Creek State Parks are nearby.
