Pataheya House is a unique mountain retreat in Jackson Hole, a valley ringed by mountains and home to Grand Teton National Park, that perfectly encapsulates its majestic surroundings. The 11,000-square-foot plus home, set 700 feet above the valley floor on East Gros Ventre Butte, is not only a short walk from Amangani (Aman’s first property in North America), but offers elegant and secluded living for up to ten people. Pataheya’s airy, contemporary layout and natural materials palette allows it to blend into the Butte it sits on and the views to speak for themselves through the home’s floor to ceiling windows. Pataheya is the perfect location for families and friends looking for solitude and sophistication in an expansive retreat.
Each of Pataheya’s five bedrooms are suites (a downstairs suite includes an adjacent room with two sets of custom bunk beds) have direct access to the outdoors. The two upstairs suites, one of the primary bedrooms and one of the guest bedrooms, open up to a deck with views of the Snake River Range while the three downstairs suites open up to a back patio and lawn where there is a sitting area and a hot tub. Each bedroom suite includes a king size bed, walk-in closet, sitting area, and bathrooms with separate wash closet, double vanities, a deep soaking tub, and a walk-in shower, except for the downstairs bunkbed suite that features a bathroom with a grand double shower. The lower level primary bedroom has some of the best views of the house, and includes a king bed, sitting area, television, and gas fireplace.
In addition to the grand bedrooms, Pataheya has plenty of public space for guests to relax and enjoy their time in Jackson. The combined kitchen/dining/great room on the main level has stunning views thanks to its western and northern walls of floor-to-ceiling windows. This space also has plenty of sitting room for one to read by the fire, watch television, or enjoy a meal prepared in the gourmet kitchen. When weather permits, one can open the oversize glass doors onto the expansive upstairs patio. The main level also features a media room with an oversized television, deep couches, and a wet bar for one to grab snacks and drinks before settling in for a movie or the big game.
In addition to the three bedrooms downstairs, Pataheya’s lower level also features a gym for guests to use when it’s too cold to exercise outside. It includes a Peloton, Mirror, yoga mats, and a weight area with benches. The patio off the gym has an oversized hot tub where guests can relax sore muscles after a day of horseback riding, skiing, or hiking, and take in cattle grazing on the ranches on the valley floor, snow falling on the mountains, or the magnificent stars above.
