The main feature is tremendous set of windows looking out on the deck and stream. Quiet, clean, beautiful, fully furnished, amazing library. Lots of gorgeous land to explore. Two stone patios and a fire pit. Keep your eyes out for the beautiful blue heron, who coasts down the stream bed. At night, the sound of owls. This is a place for sitting by the fire, stargazing, rock skipping, writing, recuperating. Or enjoy music at nearby Bearsville Theater and Colony Cafe and the Pines, hiking Overlook Mountain, the Ashokan Rail Trail, Wilson State Park, Colgate Lake, meditation on Sundays just down the road at the Zen Mountain Monastery. Surrounded by five acres of natural forest and wetlands. Walk to Yankee Town Pond. Hikes, farmer's markets, and organic farms nearby. We believe this a sacred space, and expect our guests to leave feeling revived. We have hosted several of the world's most respected Buddhist lamas, who performed purification ceremonies on the property, and we value renters who can appreciate how special it is. No partiers please. Though the house seems well suited for large gatherings, we do not rent it out for events. Please respect the cap of four people only.
