If sightseeing is your thing, you're in luck: Covington is a good halfway point between many U.P. attractions. You're less than an hour's drive away from the city of Houghton and the magnificent Copper Country to the north, about an hour from "big city" Marquette to the east, and an hour from Ontonagon and the Porcupine Mountains to the northwest. (The "Porkies" feature many nice hiking trails and are best known for their stunning Lake of the Clouds lookout.) To the west, the drive is a little longer but well worth the chance to hike the trails along Black River, which boasts five waterfalls and several deep gorges, and empties into a beachy area of Lake Superior. So much to see, and all within your reach from this little cabin! At the end of a long day enjoying the countryside, unwind with a soak in the hot tub, or curl up with a book by the wood stove.
