Summary: The apartment is terrific. Everything is new and fresh. The bed is comfortable. For the price, it's a good value. The building is a different story. The listing pictures must have been taken when the building was new, because the carpets in the hallway are badly stained, and there is an unpleasant odor (once you get in the apartment, the odor goes away, though). This is a student housing apartment complex, so the building will continue to get wear and tear. There was a pizza box that sat near a stairwell the whole duration of our stay. There were other bags of trash set out for valet pickup that went a couple days without being picked up. Also, the Frontdesk personnel are not local. The people downstairs in the office are the managers of the building and don't have anything to do with upkeep of the apartments. So when I asked for a roll of toilet paper (there was about a 1/4 roll when we arrived and no extras in any cabinets), I got an email asking me to check the cabinets and several promising to contact the local team. What I did not get was toilet paper. There is one convenience store in a one-mile radius, and it was closed for the Independence Day holiday weekend. So, to summarize, nice apartment, very well kept, but based on the sanitation of the building, it won't be long before bugs and other creatures find their way in, and the Frontdesk group needs to figure out how to handle local issues for their units in a timely manner.
