The farm with this apartment is near Auw by Prüm and it is just a few minutes to the German-Belgian border. It is within walking distance of lovely hiking and riding trails into the depths of the nearby forest. From here you can go along forest trails in a beautiful landscape to the Schneifel mountain range up to 697 m, at the highest point, the Schwarzer Mann.
There are various animals on the farm. There is a small animal zoo with rabbits, guinea pigs and sheep and of course there are also typical farm animals such as hens, geese, ducks and cows. Children can get to know horses together with the host. The horses can be washed and groomed. It is possible to learn some basic riding under supervision, to be booked in advance, for a supplementary charge.
The holiday apartment is in a semi-detached house with its own separate entrance and about 90m² of living space. The apartment can accommodate up to four adults and two children. It has a big and well-equipped living and dining room with a kitchen, a dining table, a lounge with a fireplace, two sofas and satellite TV. There is also a bathroom on the ground floor with a shower, WC, washbasin and washing machine. Stairs lead up to the two spacious bedrooms with a guest WC. The bedrooms are walk-through rooms. First there is a bedroom with a canopy bed (180 x 200cm), providing access to the second bedroom with a double bed (180 x 200cm) and a bunk bed (90 x 200cm).
You can go on guided riding excursions, to be arranged in advance, or to go on a carriage ride for several hours through the beautiful Schneifel forests. You can also bring your own horse. A horse box and fodder can be provided. The Schnee-Eifel, all around the Herzfenner farm, is characterised by countless forest trails. You are not bound to fixed riding trails and can therefore enjoy unprecedented freedom with your horse. The firm, sandy ground of the forest and field trails is ideal for hooves. Maps of all the hiking trails are available. Bicycles can be hired for a cycle tour with the whole family.
The farm has a range of leisure facilities for children and adults. It has a playground with a swing, slide and sandpit and there is also an indoor play area, with table tennis and table football. Children can play in the hay and build houses out of hay bales. There is a little fitness room for adults with some exercise equipment.
