Enjoy nature in this unique tiny house: Hütte Harzilein offers everything you need for a romantic stay in the German Harz. This 175-year-old small half-timbered house with the Bavarian mountain atmosphere, but located in the Harz, features a cosy living room with wood-burning stove, a kitchenette, a king-size double high sleeper, a complete bathroom with rain shower and an entrance hall with wood-burning stove. Behind the Hütte, against the mountain, is a spacious backyard with terraces (equipped with garden furniture, a swing seat and a barbecue) and great views over the village.
Hütte Harzilein is located in the mountain village of Zorge, a picturesque town with mainly half-timbered houses in the valley of the river Zorge, with mountains on either side. The area lends itself perfectly to hiking, hiking, cycling and mountain biking in all seasons. There is a local bakery and a few restaurants within walking distance, and in summer the village has a large outdoor swimming pool. In winter, you will find ski slopes in the neighbouring towns of Hohegeiss, Braunlage and Sankt Andreasberg, the furthest of which can be reached in 25 minutes.
From the street, you reach the Hütte via a private entrance. Behind the front door is a small wooden hall, where you enter the house. In this hall you will find a mirror and cupboard space, as well as a small fridge (with mini freezer compartment), a combination microwave/oven and a 2-burner induction hob for preparing your meals. If you want to cook at the table, both a gourmet and a fondue set are at your disposal.
An inner door leads to the living area of the house, where you will find a seating area for 4 with an HD TV with more than 300 satellite channels, a dining table for 4, a wood-burning stove and a kitchenette. Above the sitting area is the loft with a double king-size bed, accessible via a wooden ladder. In a separate side room is the compact but complete bathroom with rain shower, toilet, washbasin with mirror and hairdryer.
Behind the Hütte is a 1000 m² backyard that rises steeply up the slope and borders (with direct access to) the (fairytale) forest at the back. A zigzag path leads up the slope and there are several furnished terraces, with a gas barbecue for outdoor cooking. From these terraces, especially higher up in the garden where the swing settee is, there are stunning views over the village and the valley.
Note: This accommodation is NOT suitable for those looking for a 5-star hotel or ultra-modern facilities. Avoid disappointment and book elsewhere.

The Hütte is suitable for 2 adults, possibly with a baby or toddler (for which we provide a travel cot and/or high chair free of charge upon request). The sofa can also be converted into a double bed (140 cm wide), allowing up to 4 people to stay in the Hütte. However, with more than 2 people, you have virtually no room to move around inside, so we only recommend this if you only want to use the Hütte as a sleeping place and are away during the day. Dogs are allowed at a surcharge.
