Host & Stay | Y Golchdy | House in Llangadog
1 Bedroom House in Llangadog
Summary:
Y Golchdy is roughly translated to The Old Laundry Room. The cottage is a single-storey brick building built in 1909 and was originally used to wash all the laundry from the main house. Surrounded by undulating countryside enjoying an elevated position over the Tywi valley with glorious views towards The Black Mountain, Y Golchdy still has the original fireplace and oak beams and although small, is fully equipped with everything needed for a holiday break in the countryside.
The Space:
Y Golchdy's country-style kitchen was personally built by a local builder so you can expect a traditional Welsh cottage-style space. The worktop is made from old chapel pews, while the space has a stove, induction hob, fridge, coffee machine, kettle, microwave oven and all the crockery, utensils and cookware needed to cook up a storm.
The original fireplace in the living space has a wood burning stove so it is a cosy place to retreat to in winter. The antique sofa is the perfect place for curling up for a peaceful moment with your loved one.
The double bed is hand built from reclaimed timber, locally sourced from Llangadog railway station. The window above the bed is for enjoying a spot of stargazing in this designated dark skies area of the UK.
The bathroom has a modern twist. Here you'll find a power shower, soft towels, bathrobes and slippers for you to make the most of during your stay.
During summer months, spend time relaxing outside on the wicker chairs on the veranda while enjoying breakfast with stunning views towards the Black Mountains.
