Summary: First off, the poor staff was doing their best. And the hotel is beautiful. That’s not what I’m complaining about. I want you to imagine the worst smell you’ve ever experienced. Like your dog ate pickled cabbage, vomited into the toilet bowl of a portapotty at a prison’s chili cookoff, ate the vomit, and then let one rip right into your face. Only it’s constant and never ending. It’s not a natural smell. It’s unholy, and it will haunt me until the end of my days. I’m not even joking. We had a suite on the third floor, and the smell hit us the second night, but we were only there for a short time that night. You can smell it in the hall by the elevator of the third floor, but our room was ground zero, or at least it felt that way. The next day, I could hear the maids talking about it in the hall. We left for the day, hoping it was a passing thing. That night we came back to our room, and it was so awful we couldn’t do it. I demanded to move, and they only had a room a 1/3 the size on the other side of the hotel. They promised the manager would call us because we were only staying at the hotel a few hours a night. Never heard a thing. BTW, the guy at the desk tried valiantly to pretend like he was surprised at the Stench, but he couldn’t do it, and he said “some days it’s worse than others.” But he couldn’t give us a refund. Never again. I am making a report with the health department.
