Summary: The Lucent Hotel is well-maintained with clean rooms. A special thanks to Yolanda at the front desk, who was so professional and helpful throughout our stay. What really set this place apart were the amenities. The lobby features a billiard table and chess/checkers setup, while the courtyard has a ping-pong table and a great, long hot tub that my kids absolutely loved playing in. While snacks and drinks are available for purchase inside, the hotel is also conveniently right next door to a Safeway. the breakfast is wonderful with pastries, pancake machine, Starbucks coffee machine and hot breakfast foods. The location is tough to beat—we loved being so close to a local park, Cook's Seafood Market (so good!), and the Menlo Park Caltrain station. Parking can be a little tight, but it is totally workable and, best of all, completely FREE. This has easily become our favorite spot to use as a home base when visiting the area!
