This bright and airy 1BR apartment with King size bed located on the first floor of Le Chateau du Carondelet, an 1860’s Mansion, is a perfect mix of modern amenities and old New Orleans. It is also literally just a 2 minute walk to the main Mardi Gras parade route and the famous St. Charles streetcar that can take you to the French Quarter and uptown in minutes!
Once inside you’ll find a combination of contemporary and antique furnishings, original artwork, and eclectic pieces of local folk art. The house, which has 12 ft ceilings and the original hard wood floors, has also been completely updated with central HVAC, satellite TV, keyless door locks and wifi throughout.
This 1 bedroom unit contains one completely separate bedroom, 1 full bathroom; kitchen with dishwasher and fridge with water/ice dispenser; living room with flat screen TV, dining table with seating for 6; and an exclusive use front porch with lots of seating to sit an watch the world according to New Orleans walk by. There is plenty of safe on-street parking and we have a 24/7 exterior perimeterCCTV monitoring system to insure the security of our guests.
Our professionally managed Vacation Rental has been in operation from 2003 - 2019 and returning again to vacation rentals this year - post Covid-19, a major hurricane, and some local weather events that had us convert to long term rentals for a few years. We're back and pleased to welcome many of our loyal repeat guests as well as making some new friends in the years ahead. We have an impressive archive of mostly 5-star reviews which we would be happy to provide. Since we have just returned to vacation rentals this year, most of our reviews are a several years old.

From our location at the corner of Carondelet and 3rd Streets you can walk to St. Charles Ave in 1 minute and another 5-6 minute walk to Magazine St. shops, restaurants and bars. If you are going to explore Uptown, the Arts Dist, CBD, or French Quarter the famed St. Charles Street Car Line is 200 ft from our door. As well as Uber and Lyft, there is our local cab company United Taxi. All provide excellent service as a benefit of being in close proximity to Commander's Palace Restaurant and the Lafayette Cemetery. If you prefer we can even recommend a private driver.
In order to properly clean and prepare the units for all guests, we ask that you please adhere to the check-in time of 4pm and check-out time of 11am. If you need a place to put your bags, you may drop them off as early as 2pm on check-in day and pick them up by 2pm on check-out day. You must ask before booking if you need more flexible arrangements.
