When you enter the 12 ha. estate through an entrance gate, you will find a spacious house for eight persons at the end of this dead end road. This has been rebuilt in 2012 according to the original architecture, but decorated in a modern style. The means and materials that make your home so pleasant have been used.
The private swimming pool (10 x 4 m) is located at the rear of the house; where privacy can be written with capital letters! From the patio you have access to the swimming pool, where you can either sit under the newly built pergola (2018) at the table, or around the pool on one of the comfortable sun loungers.
The view here is phenomenal: you really feel like God in France!
The covered patio with complete outdoor kitchen is a boon for the languid, sultry evenings that are so numerous in the southwest of France.
The caretaker couple of this estate lives about 125 m away; you pass their house on your way to the house you are renting. In addition to your private swimming pool (described above), you also have the luxury of using the managers' swimming pool. Their spacious swimming pool (no less than 15 x 5 m) is situated against a hill and offers a truly fantastic view of the rural surroundings. The photos - you will find them at the end of the photo presentation - describe this panorama much better than we can express in words. Nothing is necessary, everything is allowed... so you are very welcome there too!
The children in the swimming pool and you with a glass of delicious wine on the terrace; everyone is at their best here. And if you would like to spend an evening without children in one of the lovely restaurants in the area, then the babysitter is quickly arranged. Furthermore, the caretakers are not only lovers of good food, they also love to prepare it. Simple and excellent we have let ourselves be told. So let yourself be pampered by them for an evening and experience what people have experienced before you. This 'table d'hôtes' will be served to you at the house of the caretakers (see last picture). Of course there are no obligations here either; you have a holiday and you decide how it will be filled in.
On the ground floor of the house you will find a beautiful full-size Boretti kitchen annex living room with beautiful wood-burning stove. This kitchen lends itself perfectly to the preparation of full-fledged meals; all the necessary appliances are available and you will not be short of anything in terms of crockery and other things.
The wood-burning stove takes the cold out of the air in the spring and autumn, making it a pleasant place to stay until late at night. Books and films become even more exciting in this atmosphere.
Between the kitchen and the living room there is a passage to 2 bedrooms, which share a bathroom with bath and separate shower. The separate toilet can also be used as a guest toilet. The other 2 bedrooms are on the first floor and each has its own bathroom: one with shower, sink and toilet and the other with bath, toilet and double sink. All bedrooms are equipped with box-spring beds (2 x 90 x 200 cm).
The silence of the surroundings, sometimes a car, sometimes a tractor, often turns breakfast into brunch. Here you will really come to rest.
And what makes it even more fun: in this region the baker bakes the bread himself and butter, cheese and eggs come directly from the farmer. In the rustic village of Castelnau-Montratier, a five-minute drive from the house, you can get everything you need for everyday life and the people of the Spar are also most friendly and helpful. In the area you will also find the larger supermarkets and in twenty minutes you are in cities like Cahors and Montauban. Markets (e.g. brocantes) and shops with a variety of local produce show that life here is good.
After a few days you will live life as it was meant to be and dream about it for the rest of the year. Simple, balanced and with peace and regularity. If only it could stay that way forever!
