Summary: My husband and I loved this property. It's very clean and well-maintained, the host is very communicative, the check-in process is simple and it's located in an area that's central to just about all things Old San Juan. The property itself is quite charming. We mostly spent our evenings sitting in the front door sharing a drink and people-watching and the place attracts a lot of attention from people passing by who want to stick their head in for a look. We ended up performing a lot of marketing for the place unintentionally, lol. We did not rent a car and after staying at this location we were glad we didn't. Driving and parking in Old San Juan looks like a nightmare. However, we were able to use Uber to get around and Old San Juan itself is remarkably walkable. There wasn't a single thing we couldn't walk to within ten minutes within Old San Juan. The only thing I think worth noting when considering this spot is the proximity to Calle San Sebastian (the front door opens up on it). Apparently this corridor is one of the more active spots in Old San Juan and it makes for a very vibrant experience with convenient access to nightlife and great food. All things on the plus side. However, what my husband and I discovered on the last night of our stay was that local festivals and events can have a rather transformative effect. I expect that this is probably desirable and not a problem for most anyone under the age of 40. 32-year-old me would have loved it but the activity level can be a bit of A Thing. Adjust your blood alcohol level accordingly in order to achieve sleep when key events are occurring.
