Summary: This is a fantastic place to stay if you want to stay away from crowds (like us). It is very large with spacious rooms, a fireplace with firewood. Hiking (or mountain biking) up the adjoining dirt roads reveals beautiful views. (There is also a hiking trail along the ridge top at one point, but we did not follow it far). Anza Borrego park makes a good day excursion. Beautiful flowers at this time of year. Be sure to bring food supplies as the nearest supermarket is far away. The owner was very prompt at responding to queries - mostly to help us locate things. The only minor criticism is that the propane flow to the stove is low so the burners do not work at full heat. But there is a microwave, toaster oven, and kettle.
