This brand new 3,200 sq ft building on 2 acres is set back over 300' from the road, with no neighboring structures in view from the back of the property (totally private). The rental space (half of the building) is a clean, modern 1,600 sq ft City-like apartment set in the countryside. Guests can also enjoy outdoor areas like the front porch, the surrounding yard and the fire pit patio out back. There is a grill on the front porch with a table and chairs, seating and firewood provided for use with the fire pit.
The building on this forested property is set back from the main road, providing guests with privacy and quiet atmosphere. Neighboring properties are forested as well, including the private 3,300 acres behind the property. The Delaware River at Barryville is a 12 minute drive. Within 15 minutes of this property are many excellent bars and restaurants. The local Peck's Market and gas station are 4 minutes south on Route 55, while the famous Eldred Preserve with the Homestead Steakhouse and future high end Spa is a 2 minute ride north on Route 55 (it's a nice walk, too). Bethel Woods is 16 minute drive (and it's the better back road to avoid traffic). Lake Superior State Park is a 10 minute drive.
Nearby cultural centers are Narrowsburg, NY (23 min), Callicoon, NY (30 min), Milford, PA (34 min), Port Jervis, NY (29 min). Other nice places to visit and shop in PA are Honesdale and Hawley. Driving in any direction is a lovely ride. The Hawks Nest on the way down scenic Rt 97 to Port Jervis is a must see. Anywhere along the Upper Delaware is worth the visit - some of the bridges are particularly noteworthy.
The property is well marked uphill from Route 55 (look for the 921 black on white sign), guests should drive up and there's ample room for parking in front of the building (this area is dedicated for guest parking). The guest entrance is located on the lefthand side of the building, on the porch under the porch roof. The grey door with glass panels will be open for you. The owner will meet you with the keys or leave the door unlocked and the keys on the kitchen counter by the front door.

Summary: Peter's place was the perfect destination for a relaxing, and restful, weekend. We four friends enjoyed serene sounds of silence both inside and out. The apartment was tip top in all ways and Peter is a generous and accommodating host. He has personally created a super comfortable space adorned with his artwork.
