Getting There
Vehicle Barge
14 Howard Smith Drive Port of Brisbane. Book via Micat website. A permit is required from parks and wildlife.
Arrival on the Island
Turn left off the barge and travel 700 m along the beach and turn right up the sandy track (unsigned). Follow this track and then turn right onto Tangalooma Bypass Rd, follow this then turn onto right onto Western Beach Rd.
Shortly you will come across a gate on the right .
Moreton Bay Vista is the first house on the left hand side on Nautilus Way.
No Vehicle
The passenger ferry leaves the mainland from the Holt St Wharf in Pinkenba, you will need to prebook.
Arrival on the Island
Moreton Bay Vista is a short walk up steep stairs from the jetty but a taxi is required if you have luggage.
What to Bring
Unfortunately being an island we do not have access to a supermarket so we are not able to restock pantry basics and cleaning products. Please bring cleaning and barbque cleaning supplies. Pantry Basics-mosquito coils bin liners chux tea towels gladwrap alfoil baking paper toilet paper Aldi coffee pods. We suggest you bring all food and alcohol as the resort is expensive.
Linen packs if required, are available at $30.00 per person, regardless of length of stay (Sheets, pillowcases, towels, bathmats, hand towels and tea towels).
Beach and pool towels are not provided in the linen pack.
Tenants are required to provide their own toiletries. Soap, washing powder and additional toilet rolls beyond the initial supply of one per toilet are not supplied with the property.
BRINGING A 4WD:
As Moreton Island is a sand Island (3rd largest in the world) the only vehicles that operate on the Island are 4WD.
Providing your vehicle is a 4WD, you can drive it on the island as all the tracks on the island are built for 4WD vehicles only.
It is not recommended to bring an All-Wheel Drive vehicle across as they are too low for adequate ground clearance of the tracks.
The MiCat vehicle and passenger Ferry from Howard Smith Drive, Lytton at the Port of Brisbane to the Tangalooma Wrecks is the only vehicle Ferry operating between Brisbane and Tangalooma, therefore early bookings are essential so contact their website www.moretonislandadventures.com.au for information on bookings.
NO 4WD?
If you will not be bringing a 4WD vehicle to the Island you will need to catch the Tangalooma Resort Passenger Launch which departs from Holt Street Wharf, Pinkenba and travels to the Tangalooma Resort Jetty at least twice daily. A gated car park is available at Holt St. Wharf for a fee. Bookings are essential. Please refer to the Tangalooma Resort website for further details and charges www.tangalooma.com.
GUESTS NAMES FOR SECURITY:
Prior to arriving, we do require ALL guest’s full names, (first and last names) to be provided, as we are required as an agent to provide these details to Tangalooma Resort for security purposes. As the resort area is now closed to non-resort guests, if you or your guests are not on the resort security/guests list, and are stopped by a security guard or duty manager at any time, you can be denied any access to the resort, making for an unpleasant holiday at Tangalooma.
DAMAGES:
If any damages occur during your stay, we will then deduct any fees from your provided bond to this site. If any damages do incur at the property during your stay, it is the best practice to advise us immediately, not after you have vacated.
DOLPHIN FEEDING:
The dolphin feeding experience is not included in any stay at this property. The property is privately owned and therefore not in the actual resort accommodation allowing guests free dolphin feeding. You are welcome to attend the jetty seating to watch the dolphin feeding but no free feeding experience is included. If you do have a requirement to take part in the dolphin feeding, we do advise it is best for you to book your accommodation directly with the Tangalooma Island Resort office.
NO PETS OR ANIMALS
Guests can not bring any pets, service animals or assistance animals on holiday to stay at any of our properties if we believe an animal has been staying at any property you will be charged additional cleaning and pest control, carpet cleaning fees at your expense.
