Our house offers the peace and tranquility of being in a rural recreational setting of the north shore of Kootenay Lake while only a scenic 3.5 mile drive from one of the most dynamic cities in the interior of BC - Nelson.
This property is being rented as a family get away. We allow a maximum of 8 people in the house. We do not allow parties, weddings, tents, trailers, etc. Please contact us if there are any unique circumstances you need to discuss. There are no exceptions to this policy.
Our 3200 square foot home is 3.5 bedrooms and 2.5 bath, with a pull out couch off the main bedroom. There is the ability to accommodate up to 8 people.
The open living floor plan makes for a great entertaining area with large separate dining area that when the double doors are open create 1500 sqft of open area.
We are one of only two year round homes along our beach. There are an additional 2 privately owned cabins that are occupied in the summer only.
SUMMER FUN!
In the summer the house and property offer you an ability to enjoy all the benefits of one of the finest sandy beaches and the crystal clear waters of the Lake. At the end of the day take the short trip to town in the evening for amazing dinners and nightlife of Nelson.
The clean sandy beach area has a perfectly gradual sandy water line. This is excellent for families with children who do not want to see an abrupt drop off into the water.
The house offers a large outdoor deck facing the water, with an outdoor kitchen area consisting of a sink, barbeque with a side burner and rotisserie, and natural gas fireplace.
WINTER COZY!
The property also offers a winter wonderland for the skier who wants to come home from a long day of skiing at Whitewater Ski Resort(1/2 hour drive) or Red Mountain (1.5 hour drive) to relax, prepare a hearty meal and enjoy the cozy indoor setting by one of the 2 gas fireplaces. Purchase your own firewood and make a snow path toward the lake and warm up with a campfire on the beach! In the winter there is an outdoor covered barbeque (with rotisserie) area around the back of the house. There is easy level access off highway 3A to our house and the driveway is kept cleared of snow. Winter or summer it is always a great time to walk along the water and enjoy the beauty and tranquility of Kootenay Lake.
Nelson offers over 60 restaurants with all kinds of ethnic and pricing options to choose from. There are 4 brew pubs downtown all serving their own fine quality homemade beer with great food and 4 litre growlers to go! Two major night clubs - The Spirit Bar and the Falls are a great way to end the evening. A quick cab ride home from downtown Nelson costs approximately $25.00.
The iconic Blaylock Mansion, one of Nelson's most photographed properties, is just around the corner.
Kokanee Park Marina, 8 miles north on highway 3A is a great source for summer fun. They sell fishing and camping supplies, all kinds of water toys, floaties, beach umbrellas and chairs, a full line of organic foods, fireworks, 16 flavours of ice cream, a full service liquor store, a gas station and propane fills. The Marina also rents power boats, canoes, kayaks, stand-up boards in the summer.
We do have a next door neighbour and request that noise levels be kept at a minimum. We can only allow pets on the property with our approval, otherwise we prefer no pets .
