Nestled on the banks of the New River, River Otter Cottage is ideal for the outdoor enthusiast who loves to canoe, kayak or fish. This home is also perfect for anyone seeking mere relaxation such as reading, bird watching, grilling out or just catching up with family. This two bedroom, one bath vacation home offers easy access to the New River and a small stream that runs behind the property. (Please note this home is located in Warrensville, NC. From the moment you arrive, you are welcomed with bright, yellow outdoor chairs on the front deck great for relaxing after a long day and sounds of the lazy river flowing by.
Inside, the cozy living room offers a comfy couch for curling up on and watching a good movie on the flat screen TV. There is also a recliner and rocking chair for additional seating.
The eat-in kitchen offers seating for four and is well-equipped for preparing a snack or meal. The dishwasher makes for a quick clean up.
The primary bedroom features a comfortable queen size bed with flat screen TV and plenty of windows that allow natural light to filter in. A shared hall bath with step-in shower is just down the hall.
The second bedroom features a full/double size bed, flat screen TV and views of the stream and river.
Venture out to the covered back deck and you will find a table for four and a gas grill - perfect for grilling your catch of the day! Summary: Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was more than happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This rental had everything we needed. The house was in pristine condition, the amenities were all there, and the creek was quite lovely to hear out back. Note to renters: The property sits on a curve so it's a bit tricky to get in and out sometimes. The grill could use some updating and we would have enjoyed firewood being supplied, but Tractor Supply in Jefferson has some for sale. I would definitely recommend this location to others who are looking to rent close to Jefferson. They had the fall festival in Jefferson during our stay and it can be quite busy, but we did purchase a resin composite glider that we've been wanting, so it was worth the trip! The Ashe County Cheese store is quite busy, but worth a shot if you don't mind crowds :) Be advised there are lots of windy roads to get to this location. We never did find a key to the front door lockbox. We ended up inputting our code and pressed up on the bottom of the door lock mechanism and it locked and unlocked from there.
