Nestled onto a 2/3-acre wooded lot, this sunny custom-built home is surrounded by a garden full of native plants and birds. Just a mile from bustling downtown Decatur with its storefront shops and critically acclaimed restaurants, and a half mile to the green spaces at Legacy Park, the home has easy access to MARTA, downtown Atlanta and Hartsfield-Jackson Intl Airport. The unique floor plan offers lots of places to be alone and great places to have gatherings. The home has two family rooms, a separate dining room, large office and a screened porch. Three separate sleeping areas provide privacy and flexibility depending on the needs of your group. The home is full of artwork, games, puzzles and lots of quirky surprises to make your stay memorable. The numerous windows let in abundant natural light to make the interior environment bright and pleasing. The kitchen, designed for cooks, features a huge island, Bosch refrigerator, and Zline six-burner gas stove. It's fully equipped with upscale dish ware and utensils. The cozy breakfast nook seats six and overlooks a private garden with a gas grill just a few convenient steps away. The first-floor main suite has a king bed, TV, large sitting area and desk. The luxurious bathroom includes a large soaking tub, glass-enclosed shower and more than seven feet of countertops that invite you to set out your toiletries, refresh and relax. Two additional bedrooms share a large bath with double sinks, a glass enclosed shower and Maax whirlpool tub with colored lights (fun!). One bedroom has a queen with adjustable frame and the other has a twin and XL twin. Upstairs are two large bedrooms that share a shower but each has its own toilet and vanity. One bedroom has a king bed with a large desk and skylight. The second bedroom has two queen beds, sitting area and French doors opening out to a 20 x 10 ft. balcony that overlooks the deep, tranquil backyard. It's a favorite place to relax with a cup of coffee and enjoy a cool breeze while you watch the wildlife. At the back of the property is a multi-level deck with a dining table. Fountains and mature native plantings attract birds year-round and butterflies in warmer months. Rabbits, raccoons, and other small woodland creatures are frequent visitors to the greenspace. Parking accommodates at least six cars in the spaces around the house and plentiful parking is available on-street. Guests have access to all living spaces. Guests are not allowed in attics, basement, garage, or hallway linen closet. We thank you for respecting these limitations. It is my goal to meet each guest's special needs. Onsite parking for at least six cars. Home is an easy drive from Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport or catch MARTA to the Decatur or Avondale stops. Wide, tree-lined residential streets are popular with walkers, runners, cyclists, dog-walking. Oasis in the City is in a quiet, well-established neighborhood.
