Positive: We had a beautiful stay at Ocean Retreat. The sea-view room we booked was lovely—the beds were really comfortable, and the view from the balcony was stunning, with the sea and mountains in the distance, flowers just below us, and a peach tree with the most delicious fruit we were welcome to pick and enjoy. I don’t think I’ve ever eaten peaches as tasty as those. The shower was also the most powerful we’ve ever had in Greece, and we’ve visited many islands. There’s a yoga shala as well, which I was invited to use. As there were no yoga groups at the time, I had it to myself a few times for Pilates practice. The windows run the length of the room, and the views from there are amazing. The beach is only a few steps away, and I went for a swim every morning before we set off to explore the island. Almost every time I had it completely to myself—it felt like a private beach, which was unforgettable. Anastasios and Elina are wonderful hosts—welcoming, professional, easy-going, and genuinely friendly. They’re always happy to have a chat if you’d like, and their recommendations were spot on. We tried a few of the restaurants they suggested and loved them. Once we went to one that wasn’t on their list, and quickly realised why—it really wasn’t good :-) Their advice is well worth following. It was a truly memorable stay, and we’d love to return.
