Summary: Owners were responsive and pet friendly. Our vacation started out rough w/ the ice maker broken & freezer not freezing. We brought 40+ lbs of frozen meat. They brought us a small ice maker the next day and ordered a new frig which took ~ 3 weeks to come. Instructed to really slam the freezer door, it worked. It is VERY shallow there all the way to the dock end. They said no boating but even getting kayaks in and out at low tide is a challenge between the sea grass piles, rocks, and dead coral reef beds. Plan accordingly. For almost 10k A MONTH!, based on past experiences, we had higher expectations of the house itself. A/C was extremely loud, furniture worn, barely the basics in kitchen. Although there are 2 bathrooms, neither are part of a bedroom. One is between the two bedrooms, the other on opposite side of home. One shower was broken, only scalding hot water. We got tired of calling and adapted. We’ve done a lot of vacation rentals and this was the least stocked. The only small appliance is a coffee maker. There is a manual can opener, and other hand tools. Barely enough pots/pans for those of us who cook. We went and bought needed microwave safe plates, toaster, etc. Bring your own kitchen stuff, including spices. There was a new Gas grill. Beds were comfy and there were ample towels and pillows. Washer & dryer good. Ignoring the inconveniences we had a great time every day and a wonderful vacation. How can you not have a blast in the Keys!
