Travel Purpose: business
Positive: The location was good with easy access to nearby areas and public transport, and being directly off the high street made it very central and convenient for getting around. The property itself looked very elegant and plush with a nice overall aesthetic. It is on the ground floor, so for privacy the front blinds need to be kept down, as people walking past can easily see into the kitchen and lounge area.
Negative: Wi-Fi and parking were advertised but not available as expected, which significantly ruined the stay. I needed Wi-Fi to log on to work and it was not working at all, using my phone as a hotspot was not sufficient. When I contacted the host, I was told the Wi-Fi was not working and there was nothing they could do, which I felt was very poor given it was advertised and I should have been informed in advance. Parking was also confirmed by the host as nearby and free, however what was not mentioned is that it is only free if you can actually find a free space, which in the middle of the town centre is almost impossible. Some fixtures and furnishings were not fully usable, which made the property less comfortable than expected. No towels were provided, which I understand can be the case in some European properties and was confirmed by the host, however there was also no soap provided in the bathroom, and basic hand soap is something I would consider essential.
