Outboard Cottage is a charming English cottage set in the delightful village of Ash, 3.5 miles from Sandwich and 9 miles from Canterbury and sits in a quiet location in a private road just off the main street. It has a double bedroom and a 2 single bedroom with bathroom upstairs providing a relaxing bath and shower. Downstairs the living room has a lovely bright feel opening out to the kitchen and eating space which leads to ; patio area which is perfect for eating alfresco with a listed building housing the washing machine and second toilet and sink. There is plenty of room for bikes at the back and parking outside the front of the cottage so no need to carry suitcases!
Ash village is a pretty and quiet village with lots of lovely walks and cycling trails. It has a Boots chemist, 2 food shops, a take away, a pub, a doctor's surgery and 2 hairdressers 2 minutes away and a recreation ground and a farm shop within a 5 minute walk. An excellent bus service takes you into Canterbury city centre as well as Sandwich in the opposite direction, the bus stops being only a minute away from the cottage so if you want to leave your car you can.
Dover and Deal castles are worth a visit and Folkestone provides boat trips to France for the day. Sandwich hosts festivals throughout the year with shops and restaurants open all year .as well as the famous Royal St George golf club. There is a water park 1 mile away, fishing and Wingham Wildlife park nearby. Whitstable, Broadstairs, Westgate, on Sea and Margate, all provide lovely beaches and restaurants. Canterbury is famous for it's wonderful cathedral and Marlowe theatre which is open all year and provides west end shows and plays. Thanet Parkway station, 4 miles away, opens in May 2023 and trains to London will take only 58 minutes.
