This magical home sits on 10 acres and is perfect for someone wanting a truly unique island getaway experience. Take the short trip from the ferry to the middle of Lopez Island. You will meander down the long country road and wrap through the woods to arrive at the Owl’s Lookout. This unique property comprises two separate buildings that draw you in to experience nature throughout your stay. Each building has breath taking views of the Salish Sea, the surrounding islands, and Mount Baker. The main studio cabin sports a modern design with an open floor plan that has a cozy, clean, modern feel. One end of the cabin is outfitted to sleep up to four guests with a queen and two single beds. The opposite end of the cabin has a queen Murphy bed that can be pulled down, to accommodate additional guests. Please be aware these are not private bedrooms but beds located in the main room of this cottage.

The middle of the cabin has a depressed stone floor where the family-style farm table is located. This is a great place to serve occasional meals and enjoy board games, puzzles and art projects. The lovely room has a high beam ceiling and wood floors filled with natural light. Enjoy water views from the comfy chairs, sofa, or bean bag. You’ll want to stay here all day! The variety of floor heights needs to be noticed and accommodated specially with toddlers.
At this fun and unique property, you will take a short stroll outside down the well-lit wooden path to get to the kitchen and/or the bathhouse. The kitchen is filled with everything you need to create a food lover’s dream meal or just relax in the morning with your steaming cup of coffee while you watch the sunrise over the sea. The kitchen can seat up to 8 people with a dining table that seats 6 along with seating for two at the bar-height counter. In the same building as the kitchen, but through a separate entrance, is the bathhouse that includes a full bathroom with a shower and laundry room. Additionally, there is a private soaking room with a clawfoot tub situated next to a picture frame window overlooking the views and streaming in light, be it the sun, or the moon and stars. This room has a cozy sitting chair next to the tub, perfect for reading, meditating, and getting away from it all. You could spend hours in this room!
When you’re ready to spend time outdoors, the deck off the kitchen is equipped with a picnic table and a firepit with chairs. This home is great for a family retreat, a girls’ getaway, a romantic getaway for couples, or a destination for folks who love to experience the outdoors anytime of the year!
Because this home is so peaceful, quiet, and meant for refreshing one's soul, there is no television in any of the buildings. If you want to stream entertainment, please bring your laptop and enjoy the Internet access provided. This home is people friendly, and not pet friendly.
