Beautiful property at Grand Solmar Pacific Dunes Resort, Golf and Spa; a sprawling, secluded, gated resort about 30 minutes from the San Jose del Cabo airport.
Our suite is a five-star, two bedroom, three bathroom, ocean view penthouse. It includes a luxurious Master Suite, separate cozy bedroom with two queen beds and an en suite bathroom, open plan kitchen with beautiful seated island, living room with comfy seating and Murphy Bed, and a third full bathroom. Plus an ocean view balcony with extra dining seating and loungers. Coin laundry is available in the penthouse tower (essential for our large family, enabling us to pack carry ons only and get through the airport lines more quickly).
The best part for our kids (ages early elementary through teenagers) is the outdoor area: saltwater lagoon, pools, hot tubs, paddle boards, kayaks, waterslides, and rope swing! The resort staff also facilitate daily activities and competitions that are free and fun to participate in. Poolside dining, and adult-only areas add to the fun, relaxing atmosphere of the resort.
Although we're all about this resort for our family vacays, we would be remiss to not mention that this can also be a fun resort for adults only. Some pools and bars can only accessed by adults, and are secluded from the family friendly areas. Those areas, along with the onsite spa and world class golf course make this a good option for a fun adult only vacation.
Food options vary from cooking your own meals in the well stocked full kitchen, to world-class onsite dining offered at the resort. Meal plans are available for purchase, including an all-inclusive option.
Resort includes discounted access to the onsite Greg Norman Signature golf course! You'll also have onsite access to kid club, spa, fitness classes, and gym. A free shuttle is available to transport you to two sister resorts in Cabo for access to more pools, activities, gyms, and tennis courts.
Cabo's steep shore drop offs and strong rip tides do not make for safe swimming, but do allow for whales, whale sharks, and other sea life to be visible right at the shore! We love to walk and beach comb on the private beach, and our youngest comes home with pockets of seashells to share with his friends. Since the resort is on a private beach, there are no beach vendors or people other than resort visitors.
We can't say enough about how much we love our annual visits to the Dunes! We'd love to share this experience with you and your family.
