This 2nd story 2 bedroom, 1 bath open concept vacation rental has over 1200 square feet plus a large deck sitting high among the trees with a mountain and valley view. The deck allows for amazing star gazing as there is no outside lighting on the property to distract from star gazing. There are plenty of windows to ensure a bright and airy environment inside. The home features fun “vintage modern” décor, vaulted ceilings, 4 ceiling fans, air conditioning, a full kitchen stocked with commonly used condiments, all the cooking supplies you’ll need and a coffee maker with coffee and teas provided. There is also a laundry room with a full size washer and dryer, a 40” Smart HDTV with a DISH satellite system, free WiFi, and a gas grill and patio dining set on the deck. It is stocked with several games, puzzles, magazines and books including numerous vintage books and magazines (Look, Life, Saturday Evening Post and National Geographic) from the 1940s – 1970s for your enjoyment. Each of the 2 bedrooms has a queen bed and there is a queen sofa sleeper in the living room. There is a private entrance to the rental that is located above the garage, so noise isn’t a big concern for the owners. There is a large fire-pit area which may be available upon request, at the owner’s discretion and depending on the fire conditions and the owner’s availability to set it up for your use.
The property is ½ mile from Rushmore Cave and Adventure Park, less than 10 minutes to Keystone and Hermosa, 20 minutes to Mt. Rushmore, within 30 minutes of Custer State Park, Rapid City, Hill City, multiple wineries and breweries, and several beautiful mountain lakes. Wildlife abounds in the area with a family of deer regularly passing through the yard and grazing right in front of the house, many varieties of birds, and if you’re lucky you may spot bald eagles flying over the creek and up into the mountains, wild turkeys are also frequent visitors along with a variety of other wildlife you might have the opportunity to spot.
This home is located about a block off a state Hwy. and the road from the Hwy. to the house is asphalt; so no gravel roads to travel. You can begin a hike from the house up the mountain to nearby forest service land or fish in the creek.
