Here at Pine Hill House, on the picturesque shore of Lake Cle Elum in the Central Cascades, pristine mountain air is invigorating. Breathe in the spice of deep pine forest; ponderosa, hemlock and yellow cedar. The alpine lake glistens like a sapphire in sunlight. This modern and sunny 2br/1ba, saltbox-style cottage was built in 1990; a much newer build than other homes in the community. Pine Hill House has all the charm of quintessential, rustic, mountain cabins, yet all the comforts of sophisticated leisure lodging.
This is the place for hiking, swimming, boating, trout fishing, or picnicking with family or friends. This is a day for a challenging mountain biking adventure, or some jet ski fun. Perhaps it’s warm summer, when wildflowers are blooming, and ferns carpet the slopes. If you’ve arrived in fall, a chill permeates the air; mist drifts over the lake as larch trees turn to gold. In winter, the quietude is majestic. Snowmobile trails beckon.
Whatever the season, relax here, beside a campfire at the day’s end. Pine Hill House is a relaxing and rewarding getaway for city dwellers, adventurous families, couples or outdoorsy friends! Watch the moon rise over the lake. Stars are crisp and bright. From deep in the mountains you’ll hear the distant howl of a wolf, the hoot of a great horned owl.
There’s plenty of split firewood on the covered front porch, as well as a large bench- the perfect spot to sit while you unlace your boots after a long day of hiking or snowmobiling. In warmer months, there’s driveway parking for your vehicles. In winter, the property is only accessible by snowmobile.
The back deck is the ideal gathering space! The deck is set up with everything you need to entertain, and boasts panoramic mountain views, as well as peek-a-boo views of Lake Cle Elum through grand pines. The deck features a BBQ grill (grill your fresh-caught mountain trout!) an alfresco dining table shaded by an umbrella, a gas fire pit, zero-gravity reclining chairs, and a commercial grade propane patio heater.
Stairs from the deck lead down to a paver patio where there’s a small garden, an additional alfresco dining table, and a rustic log swing overlooking the lake. There are several hammocks secured amidst the pines.
Pineloch Sun Community is a collection of cottages and homes on the mountain side that share access to resort amenities. Bring your boat and fishing gear! Enjoy a quiet, private, lakeside community close to public beaches and boat launches such as the Wish Poosh Boat Launch & Campground. This cabin is also close to great hunting spots.
There are countless hiking, biking, and ORV trails, as well as snowmobile trails that lead from Pineloch Sun all the way to the charming Bavarian-style village of Leavenworth. Pineloch Sun Community offers a plethora of amenities! The City of Cle Elum has nine parks within city limits.
Pineloch Sun Community is a collection of mountainside cottages and homes near Mill Creek, at the South end of Lake Cle Elum, a 4,800-acre lake in central WA, 10 miles northwest of the town of Cle Elum. Suncadia, Roslyn and downtown Cle Elum are all just minutes away. This community values its rural, rustic aesthetic. The community is only accessible by snowmobile or track vehicle in the winter.
Cle Elum began as a rugged logging and mining town nestled in the Central Cascades of Washington. The name Cle Elum means “swift water” in the language of the Kittitas Indians. This name was given to the river, to the city, and to the tranquil lake created by the construction of the dam. Explore the Cle Elum Riverfront Park on the Wenatchee River. Play golf at the Tumble Creek Golf Club. There are several camping areas around the lake, including the Wish Poosh Boat Launch & Campground.
You’ll love Orchard Restaurant, Swiftwater Cellars and The Sunset Cafe in Cle Elum. Tour the historic buildings of Cle Elum, including the Telephone Museum and the South Cle Elum Rail Yard. Rent ATV’s or snowmobiles from MotorToys, The Last Resort, or Cascade Playtime rentals. In wintertime, take an authentic winter sleigh ride from Three Peaks Outfitters.
Our neighborhood is seasonal access only. Meaning that, during the Winter months, the yellow gate will close and it will be hike-in or snow-mobile in only. It is a 0.5 mile hike all up hill to the cabin, so you must be up for the adventure. The road is groomed for snowmobiles and hikers, but will not be plowed so you cannot drive a car in. Normally, the gate will close early December and remain closed through mid-March. If you're looking to book during these months, please be aware of this restriction. There is a large parking lot that is plowed before the yellow gate where you will park. There is a neighborhood snow taxi that charges $25/ trip to take you and your items up the hill. We are NOT affiliated with this service and cannot guarantee a reservation for this. Their number is 602&743&2135 . From our experience, though, the service is very reliable and the folks are super friendly. We can provide their contact information and suggest you book with at least a one week-one day notice.
During the non-winter months, you can park up to two cars in the driveway. During the winter months, you're free to park your snow mobile, etc. in the driveway.
