Welcome to Casa Shell Ryn, a breathtaking estate managed by my son Ryan, overlooking the pristine white sands of Playa Blanca. This unspoiled, uncrowded 12-mile beach is a 10-minute drive from the Ixtapa/Zihuantanejo International airport. We provide a safe and private 9000 square foot beach front property that perfectly blends indoor and outdoor living. Casa Shell Ryn’s elegant and artful design was created in 2009 and is truly awe inspiring. It provides a tranquil escape and is a 15-minute beach walk to the quaint fishing village of Barra de Potosi.
Offering two casitas and two bedrooms in the main building this property can comfortably accommodate eight adults. There are two casitas right next to the main house. Each enchanting casita has a full bathroom, including private outdoor showers you need to see to believe. The first casita offers a private outdoor sitting area and king-sized bed with views of the ocean. The casita nearest to the main house has two queen sized beds and sliding glass doors which open up facing the pool. Each room offers a natural ocean breeze, fan, air conditioning, glass doors and open shutters.
There are also two bedrooms attached to the main house. The first, situated on the ground level with pool and ocean views offer two queen-sized beds, as well as a full ensuite bathroom complete with air conditioning and plenty of storage.. The sliding glass doors opening onto a veranda invite light in while the wooden shutters provide privacy when desired. The second room is located on the second level of the main house. This spacious room welcomes you with a king size bed and full ensuite bathroom and air conditioning. The sliding doors open onto a furnished balcony with stunning views of the pool, garden and Pacific Ocean.
Casa Shell Ryn’s whimsical tropical landscape is comprised of manicured gardens and picturesque palm trees. The granite trimmed pool is central to the open-air living room, dining and kitchen area. This is the ultimate layout for entertaining, poolside conversations and tanning. it also provides the best view of the spectacular sunsets that are worth watching with a glass of wine or cocktail of your choice. Alternatively, you can soak in the serene surroundings from your own private beach palapa, that is located in front of the property. Unique to the beach, your palapa includes three hammocks, lighting and electrical outlets. While there, keep your eyes open as our bay is home to migrating humpback whales, dolphins and sea turtles.
The fully equipped, open concept kitchen provides a large pantry, two full size fridges, freezer, gas stovetop situated on the granite island, perfect for meal prep and conversation. A fabulous space to cook delicious Mexican meals.
Just off of the foyer is a comfortable air conditioned games room that has a large television in addition to DVD’s, a small library and board games including scrabble and crib. Additionally, Casa Shell Ryn boasts high speed Wi-Fi throughout all areas of the property.
Roughly 3 miles from Casa Shell Ryn is the charming village of Barra de Potosi. This delightful village offers an array of family run beach restaurants and small convenience stores. Our favorite way to spend an afternoon is to walk the beach to one of several lovely enramadas (beach restaurants). It has the best coconut shrimp, red snapper and guacamole. The margaritas and cervezas are always served ice cold. This is a fabulous way to sink your feet in the sand, have an authentic Mexican meal, squeeze in an afternoon siesta in one of the hammocks and be mesmerized by the beautiful ocean view.
Barra de Potosi is known for their lagoon, bird watching, fishing, kayaking and stand up paddle boarding to name only a few. These memorable experiences can easily be accessed from lovely locals who offer these services or speak to our on site caretaker Juan, he'd be happy to arrange it for you.. You will be sharing the property with two gorgeous senior rescue dogs named Itchy and Princessa. Although they are fed by the caretakers they do thoroughly enjoy treats and human food.
We are located 20 minutes south of Zihuantanejo and 25 minutes from Ixtapa, where you have access to a large commercial grocery stores, fabulous restaurants, shopping,, spas, golf courses, night life and Mexican culture.
Owners and/or caretakers will always be on the property available to answer your questions, provide security, maintenance and cleaning services. Cleaning is included as part of your stay. If you would like private services such as cooking, bartending, laundry, massage or taxi please let us know, as this can be easily arranged for an addition fee.
