Summary:
MCM is a Vacation Rental that was designed for and around you... our guests!! Note that this is NOT a place to host a party or gathering. (we receive A LOT of requests due to it's awesomeness). The house is comfortable and private on a 1 acre manicured lot and of course... swimming pool! Please look at all the photos (there are a LOT!) since this listing consists of a main house and apartment! (Birdhouse & Nest). It is a big space perfect for families and groups visiting Birmingham!
The Space:

MCM DREAM is a beautiful Mid Century Modern home about 15 minutes northeast of downtown Birmingham! It is located in a very quiet and peaceful neighborhood. It's the perfect location to have the best of everything... a large home with a huge yard and plenty of parking but yet close to downtown!
Because there is a basement apartment, the house actually has TWO kitchens, TWO living rooms, TWO dining tables, 3.5 bathrooms, TWO yards, & TWO patios with TWO grills! You will have so much space to spread out (and cook meals) that you seriously won't know what to do with it! Note that access between the areas is available inside (this door is normally locked when the units are booked separately)
Now for the spaces... besides the enormous manicured yards, pool (open mid April - mid Oct), and parking for up to 6 cars, the inside spaces are very large and are a perfect place to hang out with your family and play board games, build that gingerbread house, or finally finish that Netflix series you started watching 6 months ago!
MAIN KITCHEN:
This kitchen boasts Jennair and Kitchenaid appliances, and has literally EVERYTHING you need to cook. We also provide spices, coffee, tea, and much more. Need to cook Thanksgiving dinner? We got you.
LOWER KITCHEN:
This kitchen is more of a kitchenette as it doesn't have a stove or oven but it DOES have a wine fridge!
MAIN LIVING ROOM:
We outfitted the living room with a very large, very comfortable sectional sofa and accent chairs. There are also cushions to use if you have a great game of uno happening at the coffee table and need to sit on the floor. You will also find a gas fireplace to enjoy in the colder months and of course the TV which has a Roku device so you can log into your streaming accounts. Off to the side, there is a dedicated workspace with a large desk that is very close to the internet router (for fast wifi).
LOWER LIVING ROOM:
This room is also very large (plenty of space to put the queen air mattress) and has a couch, chairs, coffee table with games, and smart TV.
MAIN DINING ROOM:
The dining room table currently sits 6, but there is a leaf that can extend it to fit even more guests. It is elegant and cozy... perfect for that meaningful time together.
MASTER BEDROOM:
The master bedroom boasts a King Bed with a crazy comfy memory-foam mattress. The room is quite large and has plenty of closet space. There is a small couch and a twin mattress that can be pulled out. This space is designed to be a haven for parents with small children who need to be in the same room. Note that there is also a pack & play stored in the hall closet you are welcome to use!
MASTER BATHROOM:
The master bedroom is pure luxury with a large rain shower and bench. You might just want to live in the shower :) Shampoo, Conditioner, & Body Wash provided.
QUEEN BEDROOM:
Queen Bed with pillow-top mattress. We decorated this to be a quiet/serene space.
2 TWIN BEDROOM:
These twin beds are Extra Long (like dorm beds) so they will be comfortable for kids and adults alike. However, unlike dorm beds, these have super comfortable memory foam mattresses. You'll find a small desk, perfect for another work space or homework, and a large closet.
OTHER BATHROOMS:
The other upstairs bathroom includes includes a jetted tub... perfect for relaxing after a hard day of.... relaxing! (after all, you are on vacation!). The bathroom downstairs has a huge shower and dual vanity. This apartment also has a half bathroom off the living room. Shampoo, Conditioner, Body Wash, and hand soap are provided in all the bathrooms.
LOWER MASTER BEDROOM:
This is the exact same bed as the masters upstairs! A giant, super comfy king bed :) The gas fireplace is double sided so one side is in this room. There is a curtain to draw for some extra privacy if there are kids/guests sleeping in the living room.
EXTRA SLEEPING SPACE:
We have two queen air-mattresses that have a built-in pump that is perfect to put in the living rooms for extra sleeping space (sheets/pillows included!)
PARKING:
Although there isn't parking available on the street, up to 6 cars can fit in the driveway!
Guest Access:
Guests access the property through the front door or lower apartment door using a digital lock that is programmed with a code specifically for them. The lock will not work until the house rules/disclosures are signed by the booking guest & pool waivers are signed by the other guests (when pool is open).
Other Things to Note:
MCM dream is dog friendly with a few conditions: There is a $20/night per dog fee (this will be requested through airbnb the day you check-in) and all pups must be well trained and are not allowed on the furniture under any circumstances. Guests are required to pick up after their pet (including the yard) and will responsible for any damages to furniture, etc.
When the pool is open and because it is not gated, no children under the age of 14 are allowed to be in the backyard without supervision.
The basement apartment on the property ("THE NEST") has it's own outdoor space and yard that is divided with a chain-link fence. Guests may not enter the yard in this space unless the the apartment is rented as well. (Gates are locked) At the same time, guests from The Nest are not allowed to come into the Birdhouse yard and do not have access to the pool.
The bistro lights in the backyard turn on automatically when the sun goes down! Please do not turn off as they are there for safety as it is really dark at night.
The TV's are all smart TV's so you can log in to any of your streaming accounts to watch content. Cable TV (live TV) is not provided.
