Our lakeside retreat on Horseshoe Lake in Ontario's Haliburton Highlands offers a perfect escape, whether it is a weekend getaway or vacation. Our cottage is designed for your comfort and enjoyment, featuring cozy bedrooms and breathtaking lake views. Take advantage of our outdoor spaces, where you can bask in the sun on the lakeside dock, gather around the fire pit, or cast your fishing line. We want your time at Reel Paradise to be filled with laughter, relaxation, and unforgettable memories!
The space
Escape to the ‘Reel Paradise’ Four-Season Cottage! Lakeside bliss with spectacular and breathtaking sunsets! A beautiful, completely renovated, family built, A-frame cottage located on the popular Horseshoe Lake in Ontario’s Haliburton Highlands. Our quintessential cottage is surrounded by trees providing lovely coverage.
Two bedrooms (queen, bunk beds), loft (queen), two pull-out couches (double) and bunkie (double, complete with sink and toilet) feature comfortable sleeping accommodations with cozy beddings. Cathedral ceiling with an open concept design which features glass staircase leading up to the open loft space with views of the main floor and lake.
A sundeck the length of the cottage with a gazebo off the dining and kitchen areas to enjoy family meals outside. Propane barbecue available. A stoned wall with wood-stove to warm a chilly evening and an interlocking stone walkway to the outside fire pit to enjoy time roasting s’mores. A spacious bathroom with walk-in shower. An outhouse for the real outdoorsman. Laundry room with washer and dryer.
Many bright windows look on to the lake and the amour stone retaining dock. Dock offers a large seating area as well as boat docking space. Shallow sandy lake entry with no seaweed. We also have a floating swimming raft, paddle board, kayak, canoe and family floaties for fun in the sun!
Reeling in the moments, one catch at a time. We have a variety of fish species in the lake, including Small and Large mouth bass, Northern Pike, Walleye, Muskellunge and many more! Aluminum fishing boat with oars available for rent. Horseshoe lake is also connected to Mountain Lake and provides additional opportunities for exploring and water sports.
This is a third generation family cottage that has wonderful neighbours. As we open our cottage to guests, we ask that our guests respect our neighbours. Please note that there is a cottage assess road running between the lake and the cottage.
