Positive: Quiet! Gorgeous view! Comfortable bed! Well-appointed! (Had just about everything you could need in a stay away! Cooking oils, spray, vinegar, some spices, some flour and sugar, first aid kit along with some analgesics and other such, laundry soaps, personal hygiene stuff, just about everything kind of pot or pan and covers or bowl or utensil you could need for a short stay. This is not an exhaustive list!) Really impressive! Great WiFi! I had a day-long Zoom meeting with no problems at all!!!
Negative: The electronic shades that require a remote and can’t be operated manually did not work, a BIG drawback as the sun comes right in those windows first thing in the morning and heats the place up considerably! This would be an even bigger deal if someone was using the pull-out bed in the living room. The electronic can opener (circa ~2005) did not work for me. I went and bought a manual one and left it for the next person. Tried to call number given to advise, but it didn’t work. (See below. ) Although they ask you to take out trash, I never did figure out where to. Info wasn’t in the welcome book or elsewhere. Couch was not comfortable enough to relax on. Passable for sitting up straight at its edge. The deck chairs are torture devices! Very uncomfortable despite putting two of the chair pads in one seat! I pulled a kitchen chair out to the deck. Some items were left on the kitchen counter, seemingly for guest use. But there was no indication whether that was gratis or you might be charged for it: ball caps, koozies, cards, a reusable grocery-type bag, a take-and-bake pizza in the fridge from a local joint they also were advertising. The biggest thing is that the phone number plastered throughout their welcome binder did not work. And it seemed like I was dealing with three different entities: booked with Booking.com, but it’s AvantStay, but it’s the property owner you’re supposed to contact. Confusing and irritating.
