Positive: Loved the location. Julie was very friendly when we arrived. The house was clean. The river running behind the house was relaxing.

Negative: Confusion caused by a letter on the table saying there was a £20 winter fuel surcharge, as per Terms and conditions, to be left in the envelope on the table before leaving, this was not in anything I received or seen during booking. Then there was a note in the guest book saying there were extra charges for electricity used during the stay, even mentioning a £1 meter to pay for it, which we did not see. No WiFi available (we had 3 different networks that only worked in the garden), the note in the guest book does state that WiFi can be purchased at £15 per week for 3 devices but is not guaranteed that it will work, booking.com does mention WiFi is an extra charge, but does not mention it is unlikely you will get cover, if you need that internet for work while you are away then be aware of this. When we arrived on Friday for a week stay Julie informed us that the shower was tripping the electrics but if you flip the switch in the fuse box it will reset it, they could not get an electrician before Tuesday as it was bank holiday on the Monday. We managed 3 showers between us for the week as the electrician did not come at all during that week and the shower did not reset every time. To say this was inconvenient is an understatement for 2 people that shower every day, but also very poor business not to have a shower working regardless of the bank holiday, if you run a business the basic amenities absolutely must be available, we paid to be able to use it and the owners unwillingness to pay for an electrician during the bank holiday should never be the customer's problem. The house itself was clean but we stepped back into the 80s with all the red kitchen and rugs that walk across the floor each time you step on them. The pleather sofas sink in the middle and eat you when you sit on them, my coccyx hit the bar in the centre the first time I sat down. As we had no internet there were just 5 terrestrial channels on the TV.
