"The Big Top" sleeps up to 20 guests!
This newly furnished home is the newest addition to our portfolio of Seattle rentals. Until we secure our first few elated reviews, please look at our reviews for all 10 of our existing properties.
The Big Top has modern amenities, a quiet location with private backyard and tons of parking, and proximity to all that Seattle has to offer. We have decorated The Big Top as a celebration of the circus, fun and games!
Enter the home from the meticulously landscaped, private fenced-in yard. Up half a flight of stairs is the upper floor, which starts with the light-filled open concept entertainment area. Gather the group in the living room in front of the electric fireplace and the flat screen television. Throw something into the DVD and relax on the sofa. (For larger groups, this sofa converts to a queen size bed, and it has the highest quality sofa mattress on the market... no backaches in the morning from this one!) Or gather round the dining table, with plenty of seats and a view of the valley out the picture windows. This area flows straight to the kitchen, which is modern, airy, and well equipped with all you need to feed your whole circus troupe. Just off the living area is a spacious deck with BBQ and outdoor seating, from which you can really enjoy the great view. You can also stretch out in the chaise lounge for the utmost in relaxation.
This upper floor has 3 bedrooms. The master suite (called "Ringling Brothers") has a king size bed and en suite bathroom. Two other bedrooms ("Animals" and "The Sideshow") each have a king size bed, and they share a full bathroom in the hall.
Two additional bedrooms are found down half a flight of stairs from the front door. "Acrobats" has a king size bed, while "Send In The Clowns" is a cavernous room offering great versatility for groups of all compositions. It has 4 queen size beds (including two standalone queen beds and a queen over queen bunkbed which is plenty sturdy for adults). These two bedrooms share a nearby full bathroom. There is also a full size washer dryer, and a coat closet, on this level.
Also located on the lower level is the "Midway." This gameroom is a 400 square foot second living room, and it is equipped with various games, including foosball, air hockey, a piano, a poker table and more. There is another queen size sleeper sofa (outfitted as well with the highest quality mattress) to accommodate a large group. We also offer a second tv in this room.
The fun doesn't end inside the home. There is ample outdoor space including a driveway which offers off-street parking for up to 4 cars, and room to run and play in the grass.
​​​​​​​During warm months, this home is equipped with a portable air conditioner in the living room.
Guest access
Access to the home is provided without a cumbersome lock box or key exchange. Instead, you will choose a 4 digit code, and the electronic lock to the home will be programmed work your code for the duration of your stay.
You will have access to the entire home, including off-street parking for up to 4 cars (and plentiful free street parking for additional vehicles). You also have unrestricted use of the backyard, deck, and BBQ.
Interaction with guests
Your hosts, Andy and Lynne, live in the neighborhood. We are here to welcome you and help you with any of your needs during your stay. We are happy to offer you advice for sightseeing, and restaurant recommendations.

Do you plan to cook during your stay? By special advanced arrangement (depending on availability), we will fulfill your grocery list and have your home stocked for your arrival.
The neighborhood
This 5 bedroom home is central to everything Madison Valley, Capitol Hill and Central Seattle have to offer: great restaurants, parks, hiking, supermarkets, day spas, and more.
Your hosts made this neighborhood their home when settling in ... and haven't looked back since. We love walking the streets of this neighborhood, and we will gladly suggest fun walks depending on your interests. Stroll to the beach at Madison Park. Walk by multi-million dollar estates. Discover hidden neighborhood gems such as the farmhouse with horses in the yard and the home that doubles as an eclectic art studio and antique truck gallery. Take a walk through the fabled Arboretum to Lake Washington.
Once you have worked up your appetite, enjoy the countless restaurants that Madison Valley ("Little Paris"), Madrona and Capitol Hill have to offer. In addition to French gems, try our favorite tapas restaurant or the best Japanese food east of Tokyo. Take your morning coffee in one of numerous bakeries. Or opt for Thai, pan-Asian, craft pizza, Tex-Mex or more.
Our home provides easy access to Downtown (Pikes Place Market, Seattle Art Museum, Seattle Great Wheel), Seattle Center (Space Needle, Chihuly Glass Museum), South Lake Union (MOHAI), University of Washington, and Capitol Hill. All are accessible by car, bus (numerous bus lines a few blocks from home), or for the adventurous, by foot.
If all of this touring (and eating) has you tired, pamper yourself with a visit to a day spa or nail salon. There are several of each within a few blocks of home, and we are happy to point you in the right direction.
Getting around
We live a few short blocks from bus lines that will take you to Seattle's numerous neighborhoods (Madison Park, Capitol Hill, Downtown, Belltown, Seattle Center, South Lake Union). Queen Anne, Ballard, and Fremont are more easily accessed by car. Our home offers off-street parking for up to 4 cars. Street parking for additional cars is plentiful and free.
Legal
This home has a maximum sleeping capacity of 20. However, Seattle regulations state that no more than 8 *unrelated* guests are permitted per booking. Groups greater in size than 8 will need to affirm that there are no more than 8 unrelated individuals in the group.

These devices do not record audio within the home, but will alert Seattle Vacation Home when the volume exceeds a level that threatens neighborhood tranquility. We may also use EXTERIOR security cameras to promote the safety of our guests, neighbors and team members.
