Beautiful newly updated cabin surrounded by rolling hills and wilderness. Perfect for up to 6 guests ( sorry no pets allowed) to relax, hike the trails in the 40+ acres of meadow/ woods, fish in the 1.5 acre fully stocked pond, roast smores over the campfire, watch the amazing sunset, stargaze with zero light pollution.
Deer Haven Cabin has trails meandering through the meadow where you can walk among the wildflowers, dragonflies, and many beautiful butterflies. Animals such as bunnies, turkeys, and many many deer frequent the property on a daily basis.
Outside you can enjoy the large firepit, surrounded by ample seating for 6+ people overlooking the pond. Make sure to stop by somewhere local to get a cord of firewood for your adventure. There is a full size picnic table where you can eat outdoors if desired. Next to the picnic table is a dome climber for the kids to play on while the adults sit back and relax.
You can watch the sunset from the front porch, and make sure to try out the new hanging swing chairs on the front porch where you can relax and take in the view. The back porch overlooks a small dry creek bed and features a gas grill, swing, and sitting area. There is a 4-6 person hot tub sitting under a gazebo with net curtains. Towels will be available for use. You are welcome to bring fishing poles and gear to fish the 1.5 acre fully stocked pond (Bass, Bluegill, and Crappie). Plenty of parking for multiple vehicles, boats, or trailers.
There is a small zipline installed to the left of the cabin in the woods. ***Use at your own risk**** We are not liable for any injuries incurred during usage.
At the top of the hill is a horseshoe pit along with plenty of space to throw a frisbee. Frisbee golf practice and badminton set also set up ready to play.
Inside, the walls are fully cedar, giving the cabin a incredible rustic ambiance in contrast to the brand new modern furniture, appliances and electronics. Newly installed AC/Heat system keeps the cabin at just the perfect temperature for you and your crew.
The dining area features an oversized kitchen table with 4 chairs and a long bench with outside view of the pond. A newly installed Scrabble wall game is available for your use. A great place to play any of the included family, couples, or drinking games located in the entertainment center.
The kitchen is fully stocked with pots and pans, silverware, cutting boards, mixing bowls, baking sheets, blender, dishes, kid friendly dishes/ bowls/ silverware and leak proof cups, glasses, wine glasses, and shot glasses. Keurig is ready to go with k-cups, creamer and sugar stocked and available. Cooking seasonings provided as well as complimentary popcorn packets and popcorn seasonings. The stove, microwave, and fridge are brand new stainless steel appliances. Please note there is no dishwasher. Paper towels, hand soap/ dish soap, kitchen towels, and garbage bags are there for your use.
The great room has a large sofa, with queen size fold out bed, all linens provided, perfect for streaming the included netflix account, or any of your own streaming services as well as a blue ray player for dvd's on the 55" Smart tv with soundbar. Also features a lay flat electric recliner. The cabin includes a central heating unit as well as base board heat in the bedroom and bath as well as a portable heater.
Newly renovated bathroom has 48" standing shower that uses city water and stays toasty with tankless water heater. Hand soap, toilet paper, and tissues are provided. As well as plenty of towels. Designated hot tub towels are also provided. Body wash, shampoo, and conditioner are NOT provided.
Upstairs the loft features 2 twin beds with pillowtops, a hanging cloths area with hangers, dresser, lamps with usb ports and its own window air unit if needed. Beware the stairs are mighty steep, younger children will need help to navigate as it is more or less a ladder. Sturdy handholds have been added for safety.
The master bedroom features a king size pillowtop mattress with remote controlled adjustable frame so you can raise the back while watching netflix on the 36in arm mounted television. A newly installed electric fireplace with heat and multiple color backdrops to choose from. Both nightstands feature touch lamps with usb charging ports, and a nice vanity area where you can get ready, use the hairdryer, etc, when/if the bathroom is in use. French doors close and lock for privacy when needed.
20 minutes away from Lake Logan where you can rent a pontoon boat. Also 20 minutes to Rockbridge, and many other hiking trails, and Logan where you can find a Walmart, Krogers, and several food places including the Hungry Buffalo, Axe throwing, Millcreek BBQ, Pizza Crossing, and the Hocking Hills winery. There are also many nearby places to canoe, zipline, and participate in other outdoor activities. 30 to 35 minutes to Old Man's Cave, Conkles Hollow, Rock House, Devils Bathtub, Cedar Falls, Cantwell Clifs, and Ash Cave.
PLEASE NOTE-- We do have wifi, however it is not great. Please be prepared for this. Not all phone services work at the cabin and the satellite service can be sporatic at times. Plenty of games and dvds are provided.
There is a landline phone available.
Cabin does sleep 6 people however it will be a little cramped. It is ideal for 2-4 people.
No pets allowed.
This is a non smoking (vaping) cabin.
The trails throughout the property are walking trails. Atvs are not allowed. You are welcome to bring your Atvs and ride them at Wayne National Forest which has many trails.
Hot tub codes***** Accidentally pushing the buttons may change the code which will affect the water temperature.*******
Ec- economy mode. Lowers the water temperature until new code is entered.
SL- sleep mode. The heater will shut off and the water temperature will drop.
St- standard mode. ***This is the mode the hot tub should ALWAYS be on. Keeps the temperature at the degree it was set on.
If the mode is accidentally changed---
press the DOWN temperature button once and then the LIGHT button once.
The cabin is situated on 40 acres of land, However the land is in front and to the sides of the cabin. There is a geodome next door on our other property with 20 acres. In the winter time with the leaves/ bushes gone, you can see the geodome.
