Welcome to The Toasty Marshmallow Cabin! Enjoy your privacy at our cozy, lakefront house which is nestled right in middle of a forest full of pine trees and overlooks quiet Twin Lakes (a non-motorized lake) in Nekoosa (The Town of Rome), WI.

OUTSIDE FUN:
Relax outside by the fire pit, in the private hot tub or take a nap in one of our swings or hammocks. You can also take a quiet walk on the pathway along Twin Lakes. There is plenty of seating around our gas fire table on our wrap-around deck while looking out at Twin Lakes. This is a quiet, non-motorized lake, which is right next to Lake Petenwell (a full recreational lake). Enjoy our 2 fishing kayaks to explore Twin Lakes or you can fish off of one of the 3 community piers on Twin Lakes (seasonal). Drive a few minutes down the street and enjoy the full recreational opportunities of Lake Petenwell, Lake Arrowhead, Lake Camelot and Lake Sherwood. Note - the ground is a little steep down to the lake right in front of our property and there is a lot of natural foliage.
Sand Valley Golf Resort is 3 miles away. Spend the day at one of their two award winning golf courses while taking in the view of their massive, exposed sand dunes. Golf course tee times and fees are to be coordinated and paid directly to Sand Valley by Guest. Sand Valley also has several delicious dining options and many hiking and biking trails. You do not need to stay at Sand Valley to use their golf courses, restaurants or trails.
As a guest of our property, you can enjoy the use of Lake Arrowhead Association's amenities such as: access to Lake Arrowhead (a full recreational lake), two 18-hole champion golf courses and driving ranges, 2 clubhouses, restaurants, heated outdoor swimming pools, tennis courts, basketball, pickle ball & volleyball courts, beach areas, playgrounds, snowmobiling, ice-skating, cross country skiing, snow tubing, snow shoeing, trail walking, fun scheduled events for the entire family, etc. These amenities are a quick drive from the house. All amenities are subject to Lake Arrowhead Association's seasonal availability or restrictions. For the 2024 season the outdoor pool opens Memorial Day weekend and closes after Labor Day weekend. Lake Petenwell is the 2nd largest inland lake in Wisconsin, where you can fish, boat or relax on their public beach. You can also launch your boat at any of the 15 public boat launches to spend the day doing full water recreational activities. Barnum Bay, located on Lake Petenwell, rents pontoon boats and boat slips.
The surrounding area has several state and county parks, developed ATV trails, over 223 miles of well-groomed snowmobile trails, horseback riding, downhill and cross-country skiing, ice-skating, hiking and several lakes for fishing, boating and other water recreational activities. The Town of Rome also has mini golf with an ice cream store and a splash pad for young children. You can also bring your own ATV/UTV or rent one to explore Dyacuse Off Road Park.
INSIDE FUN:
Our home accommodates up to 10 people with a vaulted, rustic pine cathedral ceiling, a wall of lakeside windows with an open concept living, dining and kitchen area. The living area has 2 sets of patio doors leading to a lovely deck facing the lake. There are plenty of seats on the deck to extend your dining experience into the outdoors.
The living area will welcome everyone home after a long day of adventure as the sectional sofa, 65" smart TV and wood burning stove are just waiting to make the perfect ambiance for movie night. Included is a subscription to YouTubeTV, hulu and Disney+ but you can use your logins to other apps if you prefer (no cable).
Our basement is the game room and is full of fun! You can still get a great view of the outside while playing pool, darts or putterball or watching TV on a 65" smart TV. We have plenty of games for all ages to play around the table, including a fun game of poker! There is also a dry bar with a mini fridge. Connect your phone to the sound bar via bluetooth to listen to your music while having fun with friends and family!
Our open kitchen is well equipped to make you feel at home. You will find a gas grill conveniently located off the back door on our deck.
Relax and read a book in our loft area and take in the beautiful views of the lake.
High speed internet access throughout the house with various spots to directly connect to an ethernet cable, if preferred.
SLEEPING AND BATH:
The main floor includes a half bath and a huge master bedroom and bathroom. The second floor includes 2 bedrooms and a bathroom. There is another bedroom and full bathroom in the basement. All bedrooms have ceiling fans.
OTHER INFO:
Accessibility to the house only available by stairs and may be difficult for guests with limited mobility.
For insurance and security purposes we do have exterior cameras on our property that record video and sound 24/7. There are two Ring doorbell cameras located at the front and the back doors looking out and a camera on the garage that faces the driveway. Please keep them free from obstruction.
Outdoor fire pit is subject to county fire regulations and may not be available for use, depending on burn restrictions at the time of reservation. Outdoor fire pit is closed from December - March unless pre-arranged at time of booking.
Indoor fireplace is closed from May - September unless pre-arranged at time of booking.
Twin Lakes community piers and use of kayaks at home are not available from the weekend after Labor Day thru the weekend before Memorial Day.
GUEST ACCESS
A few days prior to your arrival you will receive a 4 digit keypad code so you can easily check in and out. You will have access to the entire house except for 2 utility closets in the basement, a closet in the basement bedroom and the detached garage. These closets inside the house are marked as "owner's closets" and will be locked.
PARKING
Our house can accommodate up to 5 cars and has space to park a trailer for boats, atvs or snowmobiles. The detached garage on the property is not accessible to guests.
HOUSE RULES
In addition to the standard house rules, we have a few other house rules:
*Primary renter is required to sign a rental agreement for the property and provide a copy of a government issued ID within 24 hours of booking. You may cover your DL# if you would like when you send over your ID. We only require this for verification of the responsibility party who will be at the cabin and who has signed the rental agreement (much like checking into a hotel).
*No events, parties or large gatherings
*And most importantly have fun!! :)
